POST FOODS PARTNERS WITH FEEDING AMERICA TO FIGHT HUNGER,

ONE BOWL AT A TIME

Provide Nourishment for Yourself and Those in Need with Purchase of Post Shredded Wheat Cereal

PARSIPPANY, NJ (June 1, 2009) – Post Foods, LLC today launched a partnership with Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief charity, to help supply a balanced breakfast to struggling Americans. As part of this partnership, the Bowls of Hope program was conceived to present an approachable way for people to give back, while providing much needed sustenance to the hungry. For every purchase of Post Shredded Wheat, Post will donate one bowl of cereal to Feeding America, up to 15 million bowls.

The partnership commences at a time when unemployment rates have reached a record level. The number of persons unemployed in America is upwards of 12.5 million, according to the United States Department of Labor. Vicki Escarra, President and CEO of Feeding America notes, “We recently released a new survey detailing that the 200 food banks we serve have experienced an average increase in demand of more than 30 percent in the past year. Unemployment was cited as the primary factor for the increased demand.”

“With the growing need for hunger relief in this country, we are thrilled to kick off Bowls of Hope with Feeding America,” said Bonnie Lidz, Senior Brand Manager. “Every little bit helps, and we believe this program will remind people that even one bowl of cereal can make a difference. Multiply that by 15 million, and imagine the impact we can make together!”

The purchase of a Bowls of Hope specially-marked cereal will support Post’s efforts in donating a bowl of Post Shredded Wheat cereal to Feeding America. The entire Post Shredded Wheat line will be part of the program, including Shredded Wheat Original, Shredded Wheat Spoon Size Original, Shredded Wheat and Bran, Shredded Wheat Lightly Frosted and Shredded Wheat Honey Nut. Each variety is heart-healthy, offers the benefits of whole grains, is a good source of fiber, and provides a simple approach to feeling good while doing good.
