Aloha Friday: Memory keeper

My Question:

How far back does your memory go?
******************************************

I can remember everything that happened to me since the age of 3. Maybe not all in complete details and names etc, but I know and remember. When I met my mother she was shocked that I knew of certain places and things that I could describe. Sadly I couldn't / can't remember her as she was then.

Kailani says "In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response."
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link on Kailani's blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

Happy Friday!

  • Thank you all for visiting with me and taking part in this. I do appreciate you. Happy Sunday!
  • I only have small snipets of memory going back to the age of 2, like you, my family was surprised by the moments that I could recall in such clear detail. But the rest is fuzzy, just little snapshots of my life as a child, moments here and there ingrained in my mind.
    Thank you for sharing!
OHHHHH by the way - Saw that you were the Featured Blogger at Eighty MPH Mom - well done! :) You are a joy and a blessing.

    Always

  • It's weird. It's like I was holding them all to tell my mother...now I feel I want to write them all down before I forget them. I don't necessarily want to because some aren't fun memories, but I think maybe later years it will be good.

I'm featured! I'm so tickled! I love her blog and it's great to be featured on her site. Now watch me do the happy dance....lol

Thank you for your kind words, they made me smile....light up my gloomy mood that has been hanging round since yesterday.

I hope you are having a very relaxing Sunday!

    *HUGS*

  • I have a vague memory of standing at a screen door and waiting for my older sisters to come home from school. I can't remember anything else about that house, nor do I recognize any pictures taken from there. It was during a short time we lived in Indiana, so I know I must have been about two or three.
  • What an excellent question! I think mine goes back to being around 4 or 5 years old. I know we were in our old house, and I was 6 when I moved. I remember quite a few things from then!
  • Thank you.
I was having a memory with a foster parent when I was very young and I remember promising her that when I was an adult I'd visit with her again and try to let her know I really did not do the wrong she kept punishing me for.

Alas I'm here (America) and she is there (Caribbean) and so God thinks it's funny I think :)

  • Even now it's amazing the details that come to me. I also notice that as a child, what I might perceive as huge was not at all that big an area. I remember describing a ridge and it wasn't at all that frightening as it was when I was a toddler.
  • 5 - I remember significant events from that age. I was in a wedding as a flower girl and I remember the first day of school.
  • TImely question for me since I just got to see my oldest friend...we were best buddies from the time we were toddlers until we moved away from each other in elementary school and hadn't seen each other in 10+ years! We were reminiscing and it was surprising how much we remembered and how when one of us had a memory it triggered it in the other! I'd say I can remember things fairly clearly since I was 3.

    Here's my question: http://homewithpurpose.blogspot.com/2009/08/thi...
  • That is so good. I wish I could find people I knew way back, just to talk and see how they are doing etc and how we see things now that we saw then.

  • I have some memories of being 3 and 4 but they are completely random!
  • I remember holding my sister and she's 2 years younger than me so I guess I would be 2. My grandpa on my dad's side died when I was young and I remember going to that funeral as well.
  • I can't really remember much of anything before the age of 5. I have a couple small memories but that would be it.
  • I'm just getting used to this comment system. It's weirding me out kinda. I'm coming to visit you ladies soon.

I have a couple of memories from when I was about 3 but most of them pick up at about age 5.
  • I have a few memories from preschool, a few more from elementary school and then we moved when I was 10. I have tons of memories from age 10 forward.
  • blake2020ca 9 months ago
I think i can remember back to like 3
  • I have a few memories from when I was 3, but mostly I remember from age 4 and on. I specifically remember some clothes I had that I thought were the most amazing, glamorous clothes ever...in fact, they were 80s neon, and I'm glad I was able to get away with wearing them as such a little girl!
  • I am not sure really. I have bits and pieces from being a toddler. I would say good memory from after 1st grade maybe.
  • Around the time when i was 3.
  • Sadly not far. I recall some events of Kindergarten, not many, but some.
