My Question:
Have you ever used an outhouse/outdoor toilet? ( I'm not talking about the porta potty that they put out in certain public places)
*******************
I grew up using them before we had indoor flush and still most times you better had your bucket of water to flush!

Sure! At outdoor events - festivals and such.
ReplyDeleteSure at parks and outdoor festivals or activities. I try and stay away from them if I can help it though !
ReplyDeleteI've used the outdoor festivals ones, but that is it!
ReplyDeleteI've used the porta-potty ones they have at the fairs but never an actual outhouse. But I guess if nature calls you have no choice. :-)
ReplyDeleteI've used the porta-potty ones and when I was in Girl Scouts I used the outhouses. They nicknamed them BIFFY's - Bathroom In Forrest For You. Either way I would rather just pop a squat the good old fashioned way - as long as no one was watching!
ReplyDeleteYes! My grandparents used to have outhouse, but not anymore.
ReplyDeleteNope, never!
ReplyDeleteyeah when i was 4 my grandparents used to have a temporary one while they were building their home... it was fun times whenever i needed to go at nights:):):)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday and here's my Aloha
Nope, just a porta-potty. lol. I like your picture, lol!
ReplyDeleteYes I have used them and I don't like them. They creep me out! In Girl Scouts we use to call them Out Door Biffies.
ReplyDeleteNo, I've never seen one.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, and didn't know better I think, at camp. They had those wooden outhouses with the disgusting beyond belief wooded toilet holes.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Friday!

Sure! When I was younger my grandad owned this store and the only bathroom it had was out back-an outhouse basically.
ReplyDeleteBut of course, not an experience I treasure, but one I have had on several occasions.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, and I really do not like them. I the military we had to dig our own, than cover it up when done. In girl scouts we had outhouses. I really hated using them.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, when I had an emergency is neccesary used them specially at festivals. BTW, is the worst and ugly thing in the world but I'm not going to do my neccesity on my pants, haha.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog today.
Happy Friday and weekend!!
no I haven't!! love that picture though!! Happy Friday!!!
ReplyDeleteMy grandparents had one in the backyard.
ReplyDeleteYep, when I was little and we'd go to the Forest Preserves on picnics they had those there. ewwwwwwwww
ReplyDeleteYep, sure have and they stunk to high heaven!
ReplyDeleteSue have - lots of them at Girl Scout came. Nothing like finding an animal inside them when you head in - yikes!
ReplyDeleteCamping and such is something you kind of have to use it for. I'm a small town girl and know how to pop a squat. :)
ReplyDeleteIF I have to...
ReplyDeleteOtherwise I'll hold it. Lately they have been so clean and don't really smell as bad as they used to. with even a sink to wash your hands on the inside
Yes as a teen.
ReplyDeleteWhen camping.
ReplyDeleteMany people thought it was a big joke when I used to speak about my experiences. Used them for the first 9 years of my life.
ReplyDeleteI try not to use them now, but have a few times at outdoor events.
Also, visiting from SITS, love the blog, feel I could just walk into the beautiful header you have here. Great stuff.
Stopped by from SITS to see answer your unusual question. I remember as a kid when we took a trip for camping at the cabin it meant doing our business in the outhouse. As a child I was terrified to go in by myself. What might be lurking in the dark place? Spiders, rats, monsters, I don't know.
ReplyDeleteAs an adult we have a friend who we visit quite often who still has an outhouse. I'm not nearly so worried as I was when I was a child, but now I take my dog with me when I have to "go" there. Just in case there's a rabbid racoon or rat nearby. Mostly just for my mental state. It makes me feel better somehow knowing I can call the dog to "get em"
Nope, I have never used one. There have always been outhouses or nature wherever I went lol
