I sound like an idiot if I speak Patois, even though I spoke it the first 9 years of my life.
ReplyDeleteI often ask my kids to translate (even though they were born in Canada and do not speak Patois they understand) because I have forgotten some words and when my aunts speak...way over my head, don't really get it.
I don't consider myself bilingual but I speak french and some Arabic. I don't know...maybe.
No other languages here. I've never heard of Patois. Very interesting!
