WW: Laundry
In my country this is how it's done with pails and the children bring water or we use a hose to wash and rinse by hand. Or sometimes the concrete sink will have a pipe attached so one does not have to carry water.
However we have a wired line to hang clothes with clothes pins.
We found the same thing in Nicaragua on our mission trip there.
There's nothing like seeing lines of laundry blowing in the wind and hot sun and as a child running through it and smelling the fresh scents.

The text and image do evoke scents of drying laundry :)
I can smell it now! I love the scent of clean, line dried laundry. Perfection!!!
oh this reminds me .... I need to do laundry tonight!
I would love warm weather with fresh laundry hanging. They'd be stiff and cold right now...arrgh. I remember wash boards and ringers at my grannies house when I was a wee tot!
Those clothes should dry quick. No dryer needed.
It has a certain simplicity to it! Like life has taken a step back from the hurried world.
Beautiful! I remember my gramma's in the mountains of Tennessee washing clothes outside and hanging them out to dry. The sheets always smelled so clean and made a neat noice when we moved around. Thanks for the memories.
I found your beautiful site at WWed.
I will be back ♥
Those clothes lines remind me of my grandma. She has one set up in her backyard and I remember the fresh scent of her clothes & sheets!
The washer reminds me of my Abuela when I would go to visit her in Mexico ;-) She would raise around 4:00 am to wash clothes! Thanks for sharing!
There's nothing like the smell of line dried clothes! Thank you for sharing!
How interesting to see how others perform day to day tasks!
I live way up in snow country but in the summer time I always dry my clothes outside. I love it!
I can totally smell it! Takes me back to grandma's house!
Thoughts of hanging clothes outside I remember my mama. Sheets blowing in the wind I remember the smell of climbing into a fresh bed my mama made. Scrubbing the clothes? MaMa had this bar of soap that for the life of me I cannot remember the name, but she would scrub the stains with it and they always came clean.
I love the way clothes smell that dry outside.
It's funny how mundane tasks such as laundry evoke all sorts of wonderful memories. That's one of the fondest memories I have of my aunt's house up in MA. The clothes line and the pulley system they had from an upstairs window.
For a moment laundry didn't feel like such a chore! ;)
I've never hung my laundry to dry outside. Ever. I'm missing out.
wow,how neat!!!!
Brings back loads of laundry memories from when I was a kid... we did laundry the old fashioned way, too. Thanks for this!
For a bit of sheer magic, stop on over for today’s WW.
Wow, we really are spoiled, aren't we? I think I'm glad I'm spoiled though. =)
It sure would take a lot of time! I still dry laundry outside when I can, and yes the smell of it is wonderful! But I sure am thankful for my washer!
This post reminds me of summer time! :)
Oh woman...that is so fabulous. Thank you so much for sharing. Reminds me of my childhood and my mother drying our laundry the same way.
I don't miss those days at all.
That's so neat that you shared this!!!!
Wow. You have to really work hard to do your wash. I am going to be thankful for my washer tonight : )
I love it! The fresh smell of lined dried laundry is so great of course I don't like the stiff feeling they have but it is a great smell. My mom always hung row after row of clothes in the summer and I just loved running and playing between the laundry, especially the sheets.
I remember running through my grandmother's sheets when she hung them on the line. That was so much fun.
