An Apple A Day - Aloha Friday!

My Question:
Do you have an apple corer?
*******
Just bought one a week ago and I'm not yet happy. We eat alot of apples here and I thought this would help me out a bit...turns out the peel-by-hand-and-slice is soo much better.  Maybe it isn't sharp enough?  How do you use the darn thing??
I'll keep using it to see if there is any change.

Have a wonderful Easter darlings!

  2. We have an apple corer similar to the one pictured and I love it. I don't peel our apples unless called for in a recipe, so for snacks or with lunches my corer is perfect! We put it to use often, too lol.

  11. I don't have one but my mom does. I should get one. My Alex eats apples ALL the time!

  12. I have one and like it, you have to peel the top and bottom and it works much better. You are right, they just aren't strong enough to cut through the top and bottom peel.

Stopping over from Friday Follow (already following you)and Aloha Friday. Hope you can stop by my blog for a visit and a follow.

  13. I had one maybe two, but they both broke, because we had to push down so hard on it. My kids only like them peeled too, so know I just either peel them and they eat it whole or sometimes I cut them.

  14. P.S. also following you now from Friday Follow♥

  15. I actually have 2 apple corers. The first one I got looks similar to yours and didn't work too well. The second one I got, I spent a little more. This one felt heavy/solid, had a raised handle and slices through apples much easier.

Of course, I tend to revert to the sharp knife approach because they're easier to clean than the apple corers. Plus, being a fan of Alton Brown and all, I don't like unitaskers that much.

  16. I have an apple corer like the one pictured! I don't use it that much, but I like how it cuts the apples!

  19. Happy Friday, I do have one but mine is a single one (got it from Pampered Chef) that looks like a tube and it works amazing. I also have one like the picture you have and I find it is better for eggs and to mark a cake or pie to cut even pieces.

  20. I tried one once, and hated it. It just didn't work right.

  21. I remember my Mom having one when I was younger but I don't have one now. I just cut the apple around the core.

  22. We do have one. My daughter likes apples with peanut butter. Perfect to use for that.

  23. Yes, we had one that was cheap and later bought a more heavy duty one. Love it for quickly getting apples ready for snacking.

  24. I have one and I love it. Works great for pears too! Yours looks weird though. Mine is much simpler.

  25. I have one very similar to that! But I always cut the apples crooked and then have to cut the core out anyway!! I use it about half the time I guess.

  26. Thank you and have a Beautiful Easter too!

  27. Yes, I have one and if the apple is shaped perfectly than it's a breeze to use. If the apple is a little off center it's a bit of a pain and I then have to get a knife out to cut it right anyway, so it all depends on how lazy I'm feeling whether I decide to use it or not.

    Happy Easter!

  28. We have one and it's similar to the one you have. I couldn't get the hang of it, at first, but it's actually pretty easy to use and a lot easier than slicing it. :)

  29. I have an apple corer and I never use it. It cuts through the apple fine but the chunks are always too big and the corer part seems to be too small and some core is always left behind so I have to get out the knife anyway! It was a waste of money I think.

  30. Happy Follow Friday!!

I'm making sure I for sure follow you. LOL

I think we do have an apple corer, but we never use it. Ha. I couldn't tell you where it is in the kitchen.

  31. I have an apple corer and I like it for the most part. I just wish the slices were a little thiner.

    Happy Easter!
