Let's Empower The Men In Our Lives! - Prostate Cancer Foundation

Have you ever found yourself asking: “Why can’t men be more like us?”  Whether you’ve been or are a mother, daughter, wife or girlfriend you’ve probably been in a position where you’ve had to coerce the men in your life to visit the doctor. Let’s face it; historically men just tend to not keep up on their exams as much as women may! But it’s important they do. Did you know that prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in America , affecting 1 in 6 men?

In 2009 alone more than 192,000 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer and more than 27,000 men died from the disease. In fact, one new case occurs every 2.7 minutes and a man dies from prostate cancer every 19 minutes. It’s estimated that there are more than 2 million American men currently living with prostate cancer! The good news is that the Prostate Cancer Foundation is doing everything they can to raise awareness for early detection. But women’s help is greatly needed in this fight too.

PCF has teamed up with sports legends Rosey Grier and Vida Blue in a new PSA campaign, “Why Can’t Men be More Like Women,” that brings this important message to both men and women in a humorous and informative way.
