My Question:
Do you teach your kids the national anthem and pledge of allegiance?
*******
I am doing this.
Kailani says "In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response."

I'm not American, but it's important to me as well. My kids know it in English and French.
ReplyDeleteI have 2 under 3, so they don't know it yet. But, I plan to teach them both before they start school. We area a proud & patriotic family. :)
ReplyDeleteMy kids will ABSOLUTELY know the pledge and the national anthem.

ReplyDeleteNot yet. I will though as part of a World History curriculum. We are American and English in this household.
ReplyDeleteHere in Canada the National Anthem is played every morning in school, the kids are taught to stand-up straight sing or if you choose not to sing you stand quickly, remove your hat. I see no reason why someone would not do that for their country especially if it is a free country like our or the USA.

ReplyDeleteWhen my daughter was just 2, she sang the national anthem with "the bombs burping in air." Got many amused chuckles and looks. We still smile to think about it.
