I've learned so much since I began blogging and doing reviews. The latest and most wonderful thing I've learned is that a candle can be and is actually a lotion and massage oil! When I first heard of a candle being a lotion, I was absolutely skeptical, because when I think about candles, all that came to my mind was wax! And how can it burn at such a temperature to make it usable as a massage oil or lotion?

I decided that I would have to see for myself how real this was and signed up to do a review of the Scandle Shimmering Lotion Candle when I saw an opportunity to learn more.

When it arrived and I unwrapped it, and I was quite taken with the aroma. It smelled soft, delicious and calming. I lit it up and waited for it to melt. I kept wondering how on earth was I going to use this as a lotion on my body? I remember wax being HOT when it melted! Why would I want to touch this thing? Except, this was NOT wax.

I went about my evening of feeding kids and putting them to bed etc, while they tried to get glimpses of the fire mom had in the kitchen :)  That's what they call the scandle.


After my bath, the scandle had melted fully and seem liquid enough to pour. It smelled delicious so I really couldn't wait to see how it would work! I touched it and it was warm but definitely not hot. I rubbed a bit into my arm and tested it as I covered more of my skin with the liquid warmth. 

I love the smell and the easy way it moistened my skin. I was expecting more of a creamy oil-based lotion, but it's more oil. I'm not sure if I was supposed to stir it or not. I will have to test that idea next time. 


It goes on smooth and you can see the glisten on your skin. At first I didn't like the thought of putting oil on my skin, but it absorbs quickly and your skin feels soft and moist.


I noticed that while it does have a delicious scent as a scandle, after I put it on my skin, the scent changed. I'm not sure why that is. But I seriously want to walk around smelling like this scandle! 


They have quite a variety of fragrances to choose from and I would love love love to have it in lavender and fig and brown sugar!
Right now it's sitting on my desk and sometimes it's lit and sometimes not but it gives off such a yummy and relaxing scent that I enjoy sitting here and every now and then just smiling because of the aroma. 

I think the Scandle Shimmering Lotion Candle is perfect for massages. It's warm oil on your body and the scent is really relaxing. Can I just keep talking about the scent? :)
