A Baby And A Moustache - WW

He was between 17mos to 2yrs old. He has always been a fun child. This one still makes me laugh so much!
That was our old apartment, it was small and crowded with boxes.

I Prayed For Parents Like Adopted Ed's - National Adoption Month

As a child growing up in the different orphanages, I always dreamed up fantasy after fantasy of being adopted by a loving family. And love looks quite different to a child, than for an adult. I was one of the left behinds and it does still hurt so much.
I made a promise that when I grew up and have a good job and a home, I'd adopt children. I still have this passion and I pray that God will help us make this a reality.

That is why it was so hard to read Adopted Ed. It's this book about a boy name Ed who was adopted and it's a beautiful story, but I just about can't stand reading it without bawling my eyes out.

So anyways Ed was given up for adoption to parents who loved and nurtured him as their own. As he grew up and went off to school, some kids who were bullies began to tease him and made him feel as if being adopted was something to be ashamed about.
Ed told his parents and his mother told him to respond to the bullies by saying: "My parents chose me, yours were stuck with you!"
She also told Ed that adoption was a great act of love and a gift of the heavens.

Ed was very proud and grew strong, but as he got older, more questions came that so naturally do to children who want to know where they come from and information about their birth parents.

Ed's parents nervously answered his questions and told him his story.

Ed who just wanted to know, was satisfied and happy to have his parents understand his need to know without being angry or hurt.

It is such a beautiful story and also a great encouragement to children who are adopted, so they can know they are very special and there is nothing at all wrong with them or their lives.

It is also a book that encourage your heart to open your family to a child who need the loving environment of parents.

The book ends; "I'm Adopted, I'm Special!"

The book also shares famous people who are adopted.

Faith Hill, Edgar Allen Poe, Richard Burton, Marilyn Monroe, Alexander The Great, Nelson Mandela, Moses, Aristotle, Jesse Jackson, Crazy Horse, Tolstoy, Malcolm X and many more!

It's a great book of understanding, acceptance and empowerment and I would encourage you to rent or purchase it, whether you are considering adoption or not. Who knows, your child might have friends who are adopted!

I'm so glad I got to share this book with you!

About the Author

Darren Maddern is just one of the many millions of adopted people throughout the world today.

Born in England, Darren was adopted when he was only 10 days old by Don and Dolly Maddern, an American military couple who were stationed at an American Air Force base just outside of Oxford.

After spending three years in England, the Madderns were transferred to Tehran, Iran where they settled for the next five years and where Darren attended first and second grades. When Darren completed second grade, the Madderns were transferred again, this time to Fayetteville, North Carolina. Shortly after arriving in North Carolina, Darren was naturalized as an American citizen. Three years later, the Madderns moved one last time to Colorado, where Darren spent the rest of his formative years.

ADOPTED ED is dedicated to both his adopted and biological parents with a special dedication to his mom, Dolly Maddern who passed away in 2000 and his pops, Don Maddern who joined her in 2009. It’s also dedicated to every adopted man, woman and child to remind them that they too are indeed – SPECIAL.

Explosive Hallelujah - Music Monday/Meet Me Monday

I've come across many different kinds of foods here in America and one of them is the 'biscuit'. I was quite surprise to learn that this is what Americans refer to as biscuits.
In my country these are what we call biscuits. And all other such as it.

Funny huh? :)

Anyway, I've come to love the American biscuits. I can use them with dinner or breakfast or just a snack that is not sweet. I like them and they are easy to prepare.

Now for my dilemma. One day I heard an explosion in my fridge. Dh was nearby and looked to find the things had exploded in the fridge. EH! What on earth?

Has this happen to you?

No they weren't expired and the fridge temp was just fine.

Anyway I"m over it. I'll just buy more, but did this ever happen to you?

Anyway, let's move on to the music :) I promise he starts singing...:) It's good.

Well I heard there was a secret chord
that David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do ya?
Well it goes like this :
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah...

Well your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
And she tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah...

(Yeah but) Baby I've been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor, (You know)
I used to live alone before I knew ya
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
and love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah...

Well there was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me do ya
But remember when I moved in you
And the holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah

Hallelujah...

[Instrumental]

Maybe there's a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelu...
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelu...
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah

Hallellllluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuujjjaahhhh...
Hallelllluuuuuujjaaaaaaaaaahhhh

The New Privacy Predator - Aloha Friday

The Steps Leading Up to a Cyber Crime

1. You snap a photo of your puppy playing in your backyard with your GPS-enabled phone.

2. Your phone turns on its GPS receiver and determines your location from the signals of orbiting GPS satellites.

3. The latitude and longitude coordinates (geotags) are embedded into the image file.

4. You post the photo to your twitter account using twitpic, and the embedded geotag remains intact.

5. A hacker trolling twitpic for photos with geotag data swipes your location coordinates.

6. The hacker plugs the latitude and longitude into a Web program or Google Maps to pinpoint your address.

7. The next time you tweet about going out to dinner for the evening or leaving for a week long vacation in the Bahamas, the hacker who has your address breaks into your house.

8. You kiss your valuables good - bye.

Hamburger Helper / Feeding America Show Your Helping Hand Giveaway - CLOSED/WINNER

Thank you all for visiting and entering.
The winner is Brandy

Congratulations, I've sent you an email.

****************************************
We all need food. Many of us wont know what it feels like to go without. Many times in my life I had to go without and it's not a good memory. Sometimes even now, I wonder if it could happen again. But I feel if it does, I'll be better able to deal with it.

This is why I support any group willing to make the time to help with providing people in need of a simple hot plate of food to make it through the day.

I remember the first time I learned about Hamburger helper, I couldn't believe it was sooo good! Lately I found even more helpers and so every now and then I splurge and mix it up. Plus Pasta is my go to mommy food when I'm out of ideas or running tight on time.

I'm also psyched that Hamburger helper donated $10 to the Show Your Helping Hand campaign on my behalf!

And give me some music with a Southern Voice! I'm in love with Tim McGraw's new CD! You totally have to check it out!
One of the songs that caught me up was 'Good Girls' and of course my fave was 'Southern Voice"
You can't miss Tim's voice. It's just 'ooooh'

To raise awareness about the national issue of hunger, Hamburger Helper® is partnering with GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter and actor Tim McGraw to help Feeding America deliver millions of meals to local food banks through the Show Your Helping HandTM campaign. McGraw will lend his voice to the campaign through a Public Service Announcement which will be distributed nationwide. Click here to view the PSA.

Support the campaign by submitting codes from specially marked boxes of Hamburger Helper at www.showyourhelpinghand.com or by logging on to make a donation. Hamburger Helper has already donated more than half a million dollars and will contribute up to an additional $100,000 to Feeding America through this program. Don´t think one code will make a difference? The 17 cents Hamburger Helper donates per code is enough for Feeding America to deliver one meal to a local food bank.

Giveaway:
Hamburger Helper Prize Pack and Tim McGraw CD

You also have  a chance to win an autographed copy of Tim McGraw´s "Southern Voice" CD by visiting www.showyourhelpinghand.com

According to Feeding America, approximately 5.7 million different people receive emergency food assistance from the organization in any given week.
