Meet Amber: 

My name is Amber Lena and I'm not a fashionista - I'm a bargainista! I don't like expensive brand names or silly trends. I DO like feeling good, looking good and doing it without breaking the bank.

Here are my fashion rules, in no particular order:

In General

1) You do not need to spend a lot of money to look good. Sure, every girl has her weaknesses, and you may splurge every once in awhile, but I guarantee that in this day and age, with the internet (Overstock.com, Ebay, etc) and discount stores (like Marshalls, Ross, TJ Maxx and Nordstrom Rack), you can find fashion that works for you, at a price that works for your pocketbook.

2) Buy a good fitting bra

4) Try Before You Buy! Yes, I know - you've got the kids with you or the stroller is too big to fit in the changing room or it's your size and you know it will fit or "OMG it's on sale!" or you just don't have enough damn time. I've heard a suggestion that if it doesn't make you feel like a million bucks in the store, don't buy it. Well, I'm sorry, but I'd be walking around naked if that were my rule. Trust your instincts - if something doesn't feel right, put it back (and vice versa). In shopping, you're going to encounter a lot of misses before you get a "hit".

When you try clothes on, you learn about what works for your body shape. For instance, I'm drawn towards the button-up tunics with an empire waist tie to disguise my post-pregnancy pooch. But instead of making me look slimmer, those tops can sometimes add the illusion of weight to my frame because of my hourglass shape. Read more great tips from Amber.

Amber makes beautiful outfits!! I wish I was so talented, but then again, I might just teach myself. After all this is the passion that made me buy my sewing machine a few weeks ago.
