Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self. Cyril Connolly (1903 - 1974)

Travel The World On A Globe

I've always been interested in geography, but I'm no match for my husband who excels at it and knows where most places are laid out and how to navigate very well when traveling.

I'm always surprise when my kids remember places and even help me find them. They are very good little navigators.

We like to travel and do so when we can afford to. You'll remember our drive from Louisiana to Alaska?

And we use the map most of the times and try to teach the kids how to figure out where we are and where we are headed.

When their father was in Scotland, I had the kids find the places he'd be staying and they got to understand better about where daddy was working.

This is why I choose the globe for them. Now they try to find where my country is and where the grandparents live and other family members.

The next thing they need is a good magnifying glass to see the smaller countries on the map.

I love our globe and I'm sure it will be a great source of help and learning for our family.

Does your family own a globe? Do you find places on it together?

  1. My husband is the expert in our home too. I often laugh and say that I could get lost in a paper bag - I have NO sense of direction. I do well in following a map though.

  2. We do have a globe and lots of maps. We use them often and my kids enjoy them. I could get lost in my own backyard, lol. I'm terrible with directions. Hopefully my kids will have their father's sense in that regard ;)

  3. We had a globe when I was young and I have wonderful memories of exploring it and figuring out where things were. I used it a lot for school work too!

  4. What a great item for kids to learn with! It's both hands on AND fun :)

I'd say all in all a perfect pick!
