#Giveaway: Bean-B-Clean™ Scalp Massaging Brush For Babies - CLOSED/WINNER

Thank you all for entering.
The winner is Jennifer T.,
Congratulations! I've sent you an email

*****
Seems so long ago when I had a newborn and worried about all the new things that I would be dealing with as a new mom. Along with how much they should eat, sleep, pee and what color was also cradle cap worries.  I knew I had to deal with that but I can't really remember how bad it was.

It's great that we have so many products available for new moms these days.

Bean-B-Clean has this cute little brush for new moms who will be dealing with cradle cap.

If your baby's scalp has dry, flaky skin that looks like dandruff, or even thick, yellowish or brownish, oily, scaly or crusty patches on his or her scalp, it's more than likely Cradle Cap (seborrheic dermatitis). It can be unsightly and embarrassing, but it's a common problem that afflicts many babies.

Our product, the Bean-B-Clean™, is a revolutionary scalp massaging brush that's a safe, soft and soothing tool, especially effective in the fight against Cradle Cap, when used daily as directed. It takes the place of the brushes used in hospitals with the sponges on the back. Those are meant for one-time use because the sponge can become a breeding ground for bacteria and if the sponge is removed, the brush is too pliable to get a good grip for effective results. It's a must-have item for all babies!
Smaldore Associates, LLC, was formed as a wholesale company in early 2009, as the result of the birth of our first grandchild who developed cradle cap. After extensive and unsuccessful searches in stores and on the internet, we researched, repurposed, tweaked and tested an existing product as our first mission and brought the now named Bean-B-Clean™ to the thousands of infants facing the same crisis.

We are a "mom and pop" company, rather, a "grandmom and grandpop" company whose goals are to provide needed, functional products at affordable prices. We are also committed to and passionate about our product(s) being made in the USA – we want to do our part in keeping the jobs here, in order to bolster our economy.

We hope to sell our product to any retailer who shares our criteria for easing at least one of the tensions shared by parents of newborns and getting what is best for babies into their primary caretaker's hands, at a very reasonable price.

How Often Do You Cook Dinner?

I cook maybe two times a week and used the rest for leftovers.

How often do you cook?
Do you use leftovers or throw it all out?

This week's feature was sloppy joes and then using the leftover beef sauce to make pasta.

What is your foodie thing for this week?

I am also joining in with other blog hops. So if you happen to visit and follow me, I will definitely be returning the love. Just let me know that you do in a comment.

Do You Eat Breakfast?

I always do breakfast. Especially because I have a child who attends school. Of course in the back of my mind is the constant reminder/knowledge of the health benefits of breakfast.

Sometimes I make eggs, or bagels, or toasts or hot cereal and every so often I relax my schedule with cold cereal.

I got the chance to try Quaker Oatmeal Squares cereal and while my kids still wanted their CM, the hubs and I like these very much. It was something new to try. I am picking up a regualar size for our family soon.

I love the taste and that it has my fiber and protein and other essential vitamins to keep me satisfied.

So I hope you celebrated the National Cereal Day and National School Breakfast Week with Quaker!

Do you eat breakfast?

This was not a paid post. I received a sample box of Quaker Oatmeal Squares for the taste test. . See my disclosure.

In Your Child Shoes

There are many times I've seen my children's lives mirrored something I went through as a child and I can either deal with it as how it was dealt with me then or I can find a healthier way to love and support my children.

A chunk of my childhood was unhealthy in how I was raised and it has affected me on so many levels, but I'm so glad that I can quickly see the parallels and make a different choice. I don't always see this until after but I get the chance to apologize and ask forgiveness from my children.

We must not forget we were children once and in our children we can see many of the things we used to do.

Do you remember you childhood and are you able to make healthier choices in how you will support your child? Or are you in adult frame all the time and not able to recall how you felt as a child and how you wished you were supported or cared for in certain situations?

Temporary Difficulties
by Barbara Rainey

You've been through the same type of difficulties your children are facing now, whether as preschoolers, school-age kids or teenagers. But have you forgotten what it was really like to be their age? When they suffer setbacks, are you there to give them the emotional support they need--from someone who's been there?
Our oldest daughter, Ashley, tried out for the cheerleading squad three times in a row but failed to be chosen on each occasion. Still, she decided to give it one final effort during her junior year, and this time we went all out.

I arranged for her to take lessons. I videotaped her practicing. Together we critiqued her moves. We prayed and prayed about it, feeling surer each time that God wanted her to make the team this year. It would give her a strong platform for influencing her public school for Christ.

But when the tryouts came around, she didn't make it. This time, I was as heartbroken as she was. It seemed so unfair. We cried for hours, so upset that she had to endure this loss a fourth time in a row.

I could have said to her, "Ashley, cheerleading really isn't all that important. You're making too much of a fuss over this." But this was the most important thing in her life at the time, and she needed me to let her know it was okay for her to cry, to feel sad . . . even to wonder why God had said no again.

Through an amazing set of circumstances, Ashley ended up being selected for the squad a week later. But as I look back on that experience now, I realize that the biggest thing God accomplished in our lives at that time was to knit our souls together, mother and daughter, in sorrow.

Discuss
Name the biggest challenges facing your children right now. How can you walk with them in the valleys yet still help them trust a sovereign and loving God?

Have I not wept for the one whose life is hard? Was not my soul grieved for the needy?
Job 30:25

My Best Friend, Abe Lincoln: A Tale Of Two Boys From Indiana

We are lover of books in this house. We devour them. My 4 year old and 5 year old read so well that sometimes I just have to stop and look long at them in their worlds.

We have acquired a new book.

"My Best Friend, Abe Lincoln: A tale of two boys from Indian" is a good book which is both fiction and not fiction. I like that it makes the kids ask questions while reading. They are also learning about one of the President, new words and getting their minds fed.

It's good to see another child talk about his best friend and all the things he likes about him and  all the adventures they have together.

They even discussed the topic of slavery which opened more questions from the little ones. Other topics were about his presidency and his role in ending slavery in this country.

It's a wonderful book and I love that my children have this in their arsenal of books.

My Best Friend, Abe Lincoln, looks at the early life of Abraham Lincoln (11-14 years old, 1820-1823) through the eyes of a fictional best friend, as he grows up in southwestern Indiana and changes from a young country boy with pants always too short to the sixteenth President of the United States!

The two boys share a love for the outdoors and adventure.  They attend a “blab school,” where a dozen children aged six to twelve repeat their lessons aloud until they have memorized them by heart—a practice that makes for a noisy classroom.
Sam is fond of Abe, who is tall and skinny and grows so fast that his pants always seem to be too short. He admires his friend’s amazing memory for new words and thoughts, saying he was “…just about as smart as our teacher.”
Bloch said “The story shows how if one puts their mind to working hard and treating people fairly and honestly, you can become anything you want to become in life—friendships and relationships are a very important factor.”

His inspiration for the book came in part from a family legacy. His great-great-grandfather, Jonas Wollman, a distinguished abolitionist who was one of fifty two Leavenworth, Kansas merchants and business people, who signed a letter asking Mr. Lincoln to come and visit Leavenworth, Kansas.  Leavenworth became the site of Lincoln’s first campaign speech in December 1859.

This heart-warming story of two childhood friends and growing up will capture both your interest and imagination. This beautifully done book is colorfully illustrated by former Walt Disney Studios animation artist, John Ewing who is known for working on many Disney films including Winnie the Pooh and Jungle Book.

Where Can I Buy Coconut Water - Phenom Coconut Water From GNC

Water, glorious water.  I love water in it's pure form. I don't do the 8 cup rumor of drinking it but I try to get enough of it for balance.  I know how important it is to have enough water for good health.  I think my children are learning about this too and that's great.

And there is coconut water. Coconut water is sooo refreshing! On any hot island day in my country, the perfect refreshment is a cool coconut with a straw in it!  If you've been a tourist in my country, you've probably experienced this part of our culture.  I miss this so much. I'm always wondering where can I buy coconut water here in the US, but I never really see any in the stores or outdoor markets. I guess I'll have to settle for the hard coconut itself and get the water from it.

I'm tasting this new product called Phenom Coconut water from GNC. This water comes in four varieties and six flavors to choose from and are supercharged with GNC vitamins and minerals.

The flavors I choose are:
Orange Guava Passion
Pineapple Punch
Acai Peach

This Phenom Coconut Water variety has a whole new spin on coconut water as I know it. I've also learned quite a few things about coconut water. Ever wonder how to beat a hangover after that hard partying? Hangovers are worse because of dehydration caused from intoxication. Coconut water has essential electrolytes and other nutrients to keep your body hydrated at this critical time when it's losing it's liquids.

While the water still taste like coconut water, you get the hint of the other flavors as well, but it does not overcome the coconut water itself.  I'm not used to coconut water this way and it's taking a bit of getting used to.  I keep feeling like I need to add something to it for a touch of sweet.

But we all have different taste in everything, so I want to hear how you feel about this new Phenom Coconut Water from GNC.

I love that it has these added essential nutrients in the water and it's perfect for the coming summer with this merciless sun and hot weather. You can take these anywhere to keep you hydrated.

The varieties are Phenom Hydro with added electrolytes

HYDRO is 100% natural, unflavored, coconut water enhanced with a boost of 5 essential electrolytes to promote rapid hydration for a perfect balance.
Containing 17 times more potassium than the leading super hydration drinks, HYDRO has more potassium than a banana.

Phenom Mega V with electrolytes and vitamins

MEGA V is 100% electrolyte-rich, 100% natural coconut water, fortified with additional premium vitamins and minerals, including 100% of the RDA of vitamin C, plus calcium, vitamin B, and more, to support health and well-being.

Phenom Energy with electrolytes, multi-vitamins and energizing ingredients

ENERGY is enhanced with B vitamins to support energy production, plus caffeine and other energizing ingredients to boost metabolism. Its packed with vital vitamins and minerals to support health and well-being, including 100% of the RDA of vitamin C, vitamin B-12 and Niacin, plus calcium, vitamin E, and more.

Phenom Antiox with antioxidants, electrolytes, multi-vitamins + Vitamin C

ANTIOX provides the hydration benefits of coconut water boosted with antioxidants for protection against cell damaging free radicals. Rich in premium vitamins and minerals, including 150% of the RDA of vitamin C, plus calcium, vitamin B, and more, ANTIOX supports health and well-being.

Many flavors to choose from:
Orange Guava Passion
Pineapple Punch
Pure
Acai Peach
Lemon Mojito
Blueberry Pomme

Grab a few and give your feedback on their website.

I received some of these coconut water for this review and will also receive a gift card. See my disclosure.
