Our health is one of the most important things in our family and when you can get help with healthy living, it's always a great idea to make sure it's the right information and that it fits your family lifestyle.
If you are like us, then someone in your family or extended family has come down with the sniffles this month. Maybe that is why February is called the 'Cold month.'
All over the country I hear family and friends speaking of how they've been hit by the flu or a cold. I myself was hit so bad that I just wanted my mommy instead of being a mommy :)
It's always a good idea to be able to give your body as much rest as possible as it fights to replenish itself. You should also ensure to eat as healthy as possible for fuel your body will need for it's mending.

The good news is, we also have a "National Nutrition Month" which is in March right around the corner after February!
If history tells us anything is that we shouldn't wait until our health has deteriorated before we take steps to practice a healthy lifestyle.

Being healthy shouldn't be a list of things to do each day, but a way of life and  GNC is here to help with supplementing all of your healthy choices.

More about GNC:

GNC sets the standard in the nutritional supplement industry by demanding truth in labeling, ingredient safety and product potency, all while remaining on the cutting-edge of nutritional science. Love Is Not A Fight - MMMM

Love is not a fight, but it's something worth fighting for.
I will fight for you.
Will you fight for me?

I hope you will have a joyful week my beauties and please do something willful and don't just get carried along with the crowd.

"We must stop regarding unpleasant or unexpected things as interruptions of real life. The truth is that interruptions are real life." - C.S. Lewis

Welcome again to Monday's Music Moves Me. Let your hair down and start your Mondays stomping :)

Love is not a place
to come and go as we please
It's a house we enter in
then commit to never leave

So lock the door behind you

Throw away the key
Work it out together
Let it bring us to our knees

Love is a shelter

in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for

To some love is a word

that they can fall into.
But when they're falling out
keeping that word is hard to do

Love is a shelter

in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for

Love will come to save us

If we'll only call
He will ask nothing from us
but demand we give our all

Love is a shelter

in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for.

Cause I Will Fight For You

Would You Fight For Me
It's Worth Fighting For.

How Do You Wake Up?

It doesn't matter when I go to sleep, 12am, or 4am. I always wake up refreshed (sometimes tired), but I'm a morning person so I'm up , up and away. I turn my music on and get kids cleaned up and eating. I'm happy when I wake up.

I use my phone alarm to wake me up. Dh uses his little radio thingy.
And I have to wake up 5:30am every weekday morning so I can get the little one off to school.

How do you wake up?

1. Do you use an alarm? What kind? Phone, radio?
2. How early do you have to wake up in the days?

I'm finally cooking again. When I was sick. I didn't have the strength to do it. My son is very happy that I'm cooking again.
I made pasta and they asked for seconds!
Pasta is a good start.
I really want to make a menu for our meals but I'm slacking.

I am also joining in with Friday Follow. So if you happen to visit and follow me, I will definitely be returning the love.

Giveaway: Tropical Traditions Liquid Soap Foam Pump (Review) - CLOSED/WINNER

Thank you all for visiting and entering.

The winner is: J.E.

Congratulations!
I've sent you an email.

***************************
I use Dawn foam dishwashing liquid for my dishes. I happen to use it everytime I wanted to wash my hands and that was a LOT! I looked at my middle aged hands a few weeks ago and decided I needed something milder for my hands. They deserve some care.

I found a hand wash, but decided it would be better to buy one of those baby washes and use that instead, because they are supposed to be milder and not so harsh. Of course I have to follow it all up with a nice moisturizer, but seriously do you know how hard it is to put hand cream on and the next second you are washing it off again? It's necessary though or I'll have crows hand when I'm 35!

Anyway Tropical Traditions offered me to do a review and giveaway of their liquid soap foam pump and I have to say I love the different scents and also how gentle the soap feels on my skin. I love that the soap isn't drying and leave my skin feeling moisturized before I slap on hand cream.

I got to try the Lavender which is my favorite and Tea Tree and the unscented. Love that there are different scent choices to choose from.

Most liquid soaps you find have added ingredients to make them thicker in consistency. Tropical Traditions Natural Liquid Soaps are made from 100% organic Virgin Coconut Oil, and nothing else. The scented varieties have organic essential oils added. These are packaged in a special foam pump dispenser that adds air to the soap, causing a rich lather of foam to come out.

Because of this special foam dispenser, and a pure liquid soap with no added fillers or thickening agents, you get more uses per container. Use our economical 32 oz. refill sizes to refill your pump dispensers.

I love that Tropical Traditions is making these great steps in making every day products so family friendly and better for the environment.

Are Your Children Being Bullied?

My five year old baby boy came home one day and during our little talks he said: 'Mommy some boys in my class are bullying me in the bathroom when I go pee. They are laughing at my bottom and saying it's stinky."
I know that my son doesn't smell and he know this too, but those words hurt my son and especially that all these boys were laughing at him.

I asked my son, so what did you do baby? He said, "Mom I didn't know what to do and it just made me cry." I could picture my son just standing there looking at these boys and crying.

He is my baby. He is from a loving home. There is not much to defend here in the life of a 5 year old. He is so sweet with his sister.
How would he learn that he need to have to defend himself?
bullying prevention
I explained how some kids make poor choices to be mean and what can happen when teachers are not around and steps he can take to protect himself. I also reminded him that when anyone tries to hurt him, or he sees another child being hurt, that he must tell his teacher or an adult.

I wrote a note to the teacher and explained what my son had told me. They usually encourage parents to go to the teacher first.
She wrote back that she had spoken to the boys in his class and hopefully it will not happen again. She also told my son to go into a bathroom stall and use the toilet with the door closed, instead of the urinal.
Why does my son need to do this?
But for him, I will accept it, if he wont be humiliated.

It makes me angry and my son who doesn't understand mean kids, have to be subjected to this kind of behavior.

And don't tell me it's a little thing. These days, it's not a little thing anymore. This is how it starts and how it gains momentum.

I will defend my child. I will teach my child to defend himself.  I will not tolerate bullying from my children or any other child.

The sad part is, it had happened before , but my son had forgotten to mention it. Some children just don't even mention it out of fear.

The bullying epidemic is killing children, families, relationships. Let's show our support and help stop this in it's tracks!

Join Pink Shirt Day February 23, 2011
Wednesday February 23,2011 wear something pink to show your support. Stand up against bullying and let the bullies know that we as a group stand united and we won’t tolerate bullying ANYWHERE.

The Pink Shirt Day idea was inspired by two 17 year old  Nova Scotia high school students who organized a high school protest wearing pink in support and sympathy with grade 9 student who was being bullied.

Quote from Globe & Mail:

“David Shepherd, Travis Price and their teenage friends organized a high-school protest to wear pink in sympathy with a Grade 9 boy who was being bullied…[They] took a stand against bullying when they protestedd against the harassment of a new Grade 9 student by distributing pink T-shirts to all the boys in their school.

‘I learned that two people can come up with an idea, run with it, and it can do wonders,’ says Mr. Price, 17, who organized the pink protest. ‘Finally, someone stood up for a weaker kid.’

So Mr. Shepherd and some other headed off to a discount store and bought 50 pink tank tops. They sent out message to schoolmates that night, and the next morning they hauled the shirts to school in a plastic bag.

As they stood in the foyer handing out the shirts, the bullied boy walked in. His face spoke volumes. ‘It looked like a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders,’ Mr. Price recalled.

The bullies were never heard from again.”

Lets get together and STOP BULLYING FOREVER.

I'm Falling In Love All Over Again - MMMM

Oooh Mix it up!

Watch this Beres!
Woman sing all about dere wanting this
Hear why!

Verse 1:
Thought I could live without you (Eh-eh)
Thought everything would be fine
Saw nothing special about you
But still you were plauging my mind
I used to take you for granted
You were the last name in my life
Presently you're the most wanted
At the top of my life

And it was yesterday when
I saw you down my lady
You were with my best friend (Jealousy reign)
All ((trop-a-tane?)) (Talking game) (And!)

And now I'm falling in love
All over again, yeah
How could I ever doubt
That you were my friend (I'm)

Falling in love (Falling)
All over again (Over and over - Watch this!)
How could I ever doubt
That you were my friend (Beres!)

Who Say that big man don't cry
Yuh never miss di water
Till yuh well run dry
Could yuh find it in yuh heart
To give me one more try
I wont abuse the situation
This time I wont lie

By mi nightly conversation
Also mi lullaby
Well she squeeze orange juice
An mi eggs well fried
Garments well cleaned
From mi socks to mi tie
She's a friend, also a lover
Dat mean me not feel shy
Me express meself
Straight up to the sky (Oh)

Who Say that big man don't cry
Yuh never miss di water
Till yuh well run dry (Me say)
Who say that big man don't cry

Now I'm falling in love
All over again (Its only natural)
How could I ever doubt
That you were my friend (Eh-eh)
(But I'm) Falling in love
All over again (As I was saying)
How could I ever doubt
That you were my friend (Watch this!)
Woman unleash all yuh

El Monterey New Meal Ideas For The Entire Family!

When I grow up I want to be a chef. Yes, I actually wanted to do that too when I was a kid and a young adult. I loved cooking. I even entered one of my buns in a contest and won second place! I was so excited!

However now I'm a mother and cooking is no longer fun all the time for me. It's more like a chore. All the time I'm worrying about what to make and how much and etc.
If I could get a month off cooking, it would be well appreciated.

And it would really help if my husband did some of the cooking, but alas my hubs is only microwave friendly :)

There are many times when a quick microwaved dinner has saved the evening though and sometimes it makes me think of  having a burrito night! I use the El Monterey brands and I love them.

I've just been introduced to some new meal ideas from El Monterey which definitely cuts down on prep time and time spent in the kitchen!

I had the chance to try these entrees:
1. Chicken Enchiladas with Spanish Rice and Suiza Sauce

2. Cheese Enchiladas with Spanish Rice and Red Enchilada Sauce

3. Chicken Mexicana with Pasta in a White Cream Poblano Pepper Sauce

4. Spicy Beef Enchiladas with Spanish Rice and Spicy Red Enchilada Sauce

These can be done in the microwave or conventional oven. I prefer the oven.  In 60 minutes you'll have dinner ready. You can make a salad or soup or order a side of bread sticks to go along with it if you want, but for a busy night or just one where you don't want to go through the various dinner prep stages, these are perfect for the family.

The taste is great, but for the spicy ones, my kids weren't fond of them at all. I also love that it's just enough meal in one package for four people and I don't have to deal with leftovers.

My favorite of the four is the Chicken Mexicana with Pasta in a White Cream Poblano Pepper Sauce.

El Monterey is manufactured by Ruiz Foods – a California-based, family-owned and operated food processing company co-founded in 1964 by Fred Ruiz and his father, Louis. To this day, Ruiz Foods still uses ‘Grandma Rosie’s’ recipes as the basis for all their Mexican food products – burritos, taquitos, quesadillas, tamales, chimichangas, and more.
Read more about the family business here.

Visit their website or see them on facebook

This was not a paid post. I received the El Monterey entrees discussed in this article. Thank you to the company and/or PR agency who supplied the products for the review. See my disclosure

Re-Discover Sexy With EdenFantasys

I'm surprise that it is so taboo to talk about sex on our blogs. Why? Aren't we all parents or in a committed relationship? Sex is apart of who we are.
Talking about sexual fun and health should not be taboo. It should be celebrated. We should be open to discuss sexual problems with our family and friends so we can all learn and also as parents be the voice that our children hear discussing sexual facts when it's time for them to learn.
