Have you ever seen an iceberg up close and personal?

How about a leopard? News says it attacked a couple guards and strayed into the village in India but was caught later.

Pasta Is Made of Spices And All Things Nice

I love pasta. If I go to a restaurant, I can't help but order something pasta related. I really want to branch out but oh my there are just too many pasta dishes to get them all in at the rare times we eat out.

So I make pasta at home. They are nothing like the ones at the restaurant. I'm disappointed in me. I need the secrets!

That is not the only reason I make pasta at home. I'm a mother. I used to love cooking but now I just have to do it and many times without the love part in my brain. And it's my go to meal! It's easy and you don't have to spend hours doing it! Pasta is also healthy because you have so many ways of making it and the options to include veggies or different kinds of meat etc.

I received this cute book titled: Top 100 Pasta Dishes - Easy every day recipes that children will love by Annabel karmel and I gotta say that I'm in love! My first thought was: YES! This is the perfect time to get my kids cooking with me more often. I want them to grow up learning to cook for many different reasons.

The contents covers sections for Baby, Toddler, Poultry and Pasta, Meaty Menus, Favorite Fish and Yummy Veggies.
I love Veggie pastas and seafood pastas!

I'm realizing that my kitchen needs to have some pesto!! I cannot wait to get this gem on my shelf.

I didn't have all my ingredients so the kids and I choose the Spaghetti bolognese with pesto. And we had to make do with our pantry but next time we'll have our real ingredients for the dish.

Pasta is a safe and easy solid food to begin feeding babies, and offers a great backdrop for introducing toddlers to new meats and vegetables. But best of all - parents will actually want to eat these recipes too! With Annabel's help, there's no longer a need to make separate dinners for you and the kids.
With tasty, nutritious, quick, and economical recipes, Top 100 Pasta Dishes makes the perfect addition to any family’s mealtime rotation. Here’s how:
Feeding your fussy eaters: Even the fussiest of eaters absolutley love pasta.

  • Concealing vegetables: With Annabel’s colorful and tasty dishes, kids won’t even know they are eating “yucky” vegetables.
  • One family, One Meal: Mom, Dad, baby and teen can all eat and enjoy the same meal. No last-minute mac and cheese or take-out necessary.
  • Easy recipes for busy nights: Flip through the book on school nights and find a 30 minute meal at your finger tips.
  • Save money: With ingredients like bowtie pasta, sweet potato and brown suagar, these recipes will not break the bank.

In addition to all of these great practical uses, this book is seriously adorable and would make an awesome gift!

Annabel Karmel is the mother of three children, a bestselling author of books on nutrition and cooking for babies and toddlers, and a familiar face on British television. Annabel travels frequently to the United States, where her books on feeding babies and young children are very popular. She has appeared on many TV programs, including the Today show and The Early Show. Please visit her website at www.annabelkarmel.com.

You can purchase this book in both e-book and hardcover form on Amazon.com

I received this book for this review. See my disclosure.

Thomas Sent Me Croissants!

I remember how much I used to love eating these soft buttery goodness, but after awhile it changed and got dry and not very appetizing, so I stopped buying them. The ones I used to eat wasn't from Thomas mind you. :)

I have tasted the Thomas pre-sliced sandwich croissants and I'm once again captured.

I love my croissants with anything. Sometimes just by themselves warmed, or with butter, jelly, eggs, ooh yes, please add bacon! :)

Now I'll get to try them with nutella! I can't wait!

Once again I'll have more delicious goodness on my breakfast menu. I love the choices because I'm the woman who always makes breakfast.

This is a new product so if you see it on your bread shelf, definitely grab a package and see for yourself how good these are!

So let's meet up for breakfast French style!

How do you eat your croissants?

You might not be able to be in Paris to celebrate Bastille Day, so let Thomas’ help you celebrate the French holiday with new Sandwich Croissants! Pair them with eggs in the morning or delectable turkey and brie for lunch, these round and pre-sliced Sandwich Croissants are an ideal and easy option to add some flair to your sandwiches.
These tasty new sandwich alternatives are the first and only fresh-baked croissants available in the bread aisle – and at 160 calories per serving, they’re a moderate – though delicious – indulgence.
Thomas’ Sandwich Croissants are currently available in the tri-state area, but will be coming to additional markets soon

Find them at Thomasbread.com or on facebook

I received a package of the NEW Thomas sandwich croissants to try.

See my disclosure.

Do You Have A Wedge?

I don't have a wedge.
I probably would have gotten one when I was younger, but I don't remember being able to afford one then either.

Now I just love comfort on my feet and being able to chase my kids when necessary.

Of course I wouldn't mind the lift to be a bit taller, but like I said, 'comfort' :)

Do you wear wedgies?
Do you prefer style or comfort in regards to shoe shopping?

Anyway, I like these, expensive, but stylish.

I Always Say Yes

You've heard the saying: 'If mama aint' happy, ain't nobody happy!"
That can be true in both negative and positive way. But it is true in ways.

I've seen this with my family and so the Turning Point with Dr Jeremiah resonates with me.

...in honor giving preference to one another.
Romans 12:10

Several years ago, journalist Larry King interviewed television personality Art Linkletter, who had just turned ninety. King, who has famously been married several times, asked Linkletter the secret of longevity in marriage. Linkletter and his wife were married seventy-four years.  Linkletter simply replied, "I always say yes to anything she says."

"So how do you stay happy?" asked King in surprise.

"Oh, that's Lois," said Art. "She's happy--when she's happy, I'm happy."

There's a lot of truth in that little bit of folk wisdom. Of course, the real secret is when both partners begin practicing this habit. The place where encouragement is most needed is the home, where our flaws are exposed and our selfishness is most likely to exert itself. But marriage works best when spouses are less selfish, more selfless, and when they understand that it's not about making themselves happy but about making the other happy--in honor preferring one another. It is God's plan, and it works!

Biblical love is not emotions or feelings, but attitudes and actions that seek the best interests of the other person.

She Adopted A Baby!!

I love the heart of people open to adoption. I remember when I wanted so badly to have someone talk into that orphanage (girls home) and choose me to take home and be apart of their family. I'd day dream about this every moment! It never happened but it made me realize how much I want to adopt a child or children when I grew up and was a stable adult.

So it just brings me joy to see a family choose to adopt.

Have you ever thought of adopting into your family?
Have you ever visited an orphanage?

Denise have adopted a little girl. Of course we know adoption goes on every day around the US, but it's good to see and hear good news these days.

Christmas In July With Storkie!

My mom lives in the Caribbean and doesn't get to see my children except through webcam and speaking with them on the phone.

So I love sending her fun cards with milestones of how the children are growing or just an awesome photo I managed to capture of them in the midst of their hurry to grow up :)

She loves these little treats of the children for her mementos and memories and we get to talk about what they are doing and just share our lives as much as is possible with her oceans away.

My son had a ceremony when his Kindergarten year was over and while it wasn't a cap and gown event like some schools held, I was hoping to send a photo card of him holding his certificates and awards he received in his ceremony.
Something my mom can hang on her wall and be all grandmama proud. I've already sent a photo of this to her but maybe I can send a more put together one from Storkie.com. And Storkie lets you do the most fun things with your photo cards!

Last year I used Storkie to send Christmas cards to our extended family. I loved the cards they sent and they even added self addressed envelopes! They have really stylish and unique Christmas cards. As a matter a fact, they have a wide variety of cards for just about any occasion!
