Dannon Danimals new "Rally for Recess" & #GIVEAWAY

I'm a big fan of letting kids have time to play and not scheduling every moment of their lives.
In the past twenty years, children have lost an average of 8 hours of recess a week, and some schools no longer provide play time for students. According to the American Academy of Pediatricians, the lack of play time is a national crisis leading to a growing epidemic: childhood obesity.
Rally for Recess is a national initiative designed to create healthy competition, pitting school against school. Five schools have the opportunity to win new playground equipment and an all-day recess celebration!
Danimals is committed to childhood health and wellness, which starts with good nutrition and an active lifestyle. Through February 8, 2012, purchasers can find codes on Danimals packaging to enter and register. The top school in each of five categories with the most codes registered wins!
For more information, visit: RallyforRecess.com

GIVEAWAY: Winner's choice of  a branded soccer ball with a branded drawstring bag OR the product itself (6 pack of yogurt)

CocoaWell Review & #Giveaway (ARV: $29.99)

I try to eat as healthy as I can and I cook most of our family meals. However I still supplement our diet with multi-vitamins. I'm not religious about it, but the kids make me remember by asking for their gummies. I take mine when I feel like I've really neglected myself.

I'm full of energy to a certain point. I wake up and I'm all day go-er mom! I don't drink coffee or energy drinks and I do well until 3am at night/morning, so it's hard to notice much difference in me when I take vitamins or supplements.

I've been introduced to the new cocoa-based supplement called CocoaWell and it looks very promising for nourishment to my body.
CocoaWell Cocoa - RESVITALE - GNC
I do not mind taking a supplement that will help me in my daily life, especially when I can see the benefits, but I do have a hard time swallowing pills.  The Cocoa is just like any other vitamins, but I do wish they were smaller.

The benefits:
Protective heart-healthy antioxidant
Promotes mental clarity, focus & elevated mood
Provides enhanced natural energy & increased alertness

Proof:
Clinical studies suggest that cocoa and plant flavanols may help support healthy blood pressure, increased energy and improved mental acuity.

You can find more of the products in their cocoa line here.
450mg plant flavanols Supplies Heart-Healthy benefits and a boost of Energy without the calories and fat associated with Dark Chocolate.*
Cocoa has been consumed for its incredible healthy properties and revered by the Mayans and Aztecs as their most precious nutrition.*
Our formula is enhanced with Pure Plant Flavanol Complex, an exclusive blend of plant sources that deliver the remarkable health benefits of flavanols such as catechins, epicatechins and EGCG.* These potent polyphenols are shown to support brain, energy and immunity and are among the most researched of all phytonutrients.*
The Kuna Tradition
The Art Introducing CocoVitále’s organic cocoa– cellular rejuvenation from the heart of the rain forest.* Rich in South American heritage, the lush jungle reserve possesses the purest cocoa – ourdevotion to health protection begins here.*
Cocoa is the ultimate super food, perhaps the healthiest substance you can put in your mouth after water, said our spokesperson and Fox News’ “Medicine Hunter” Chris Kilham. If that comes as a surprise, the reason is that cocoa contains 712 compounds, many of which are potent antioxidants. We need antioxidants as surely as we need vitamins. You may have seen this article in Oprah Magazine about the benefits of cocoa, and Dr Oz also talked about it a few days ago.
Offering the most advanced and complete formulas available, CocoaWell is the first natural products brand to dedicate a line of nutritional supplements to the health benefits of cocoa. CocoaWell is a supplement that gives you all of the good stuff found in cocoa without the fat and sugar you would be getting in any given chocolate bar. The ingredients in CocoaWell help to strengthen arteries, increase blood flow, lower blood pressure, boost mood and sustain energy.
You can win one for your family or yourself.

Shoes On My Feet: I Bought It!

I LOVE gorgeous shoes and if I could have say 20 pairs in my closet without ill effects on my budget, I would. However there is NO WAY I'd pay almost $700 for a pair of shoes. Not even if I was rich!

This pair was voted shoes of the year.
I say, I'd prefer if it was red with white lace or white with red or black lace.  It's definitely a great design, but I like my style.

Valentino's Platform Lace Pump was voted the sexiest shoe of 2011. The heel sells for $695.

The 2nd sexiest shoe cost even more. *Faint* But I do agree it's nice looking but I'd rather it in red. Again you say? Well yes. At least let the heels be red, or the soles or something! But not all of it in that BLAND color!

#2 Sexiest Shoe: Jimmy Choo Swarovski crystal-encrusted sandal with double ankle straps, $2,095

The 3rd sexiest is alright. But I'd kinda line the edges with some color. Can you tell I'm a fan of color? And I've not worn one of these high boots before, so I'd love to one day but again. Wont be spending such a whopper for it!

#3 Sexiest Shoe: Prada knee-high leather boot with covered platform, $1,200

And the 4th is this piece. I think is nice. Anything black is very versatile, but add some color and you get spicy! I want mine in RED!

Chrissie Morris suede, mesh and stingray peep-toe ankle boot, $1,365

Very nice designs but once again. I NEED color. I'm a Caribbean girl, so what do you expect :)

And with Two Questions Thursdays and Aloha Friday questions:

1. Which one would you choose as the sexiest?
2. What's your go to shoes at home?

What are you craving in the Friday Food Fight?
I really would love to taste this Latte and can't wait to do it.

Thinking Outside Of The (Pizza) Box

Pizza is the dish!

For real! I mean pizza never goes out of style.

I guess the reason it taste sooo good to me is because we rarely eat it. Maybe once a month or every three months or so.  When we do get it, it's like just wanting to stuff your face good!

We had pizza last night for dinner and I had to tell myself to NOT eat anymore :) I'm glad I did though or my stomach would pay for it.

The Boboli is great for at home pizza making with the family. Especially on the weekend, during the games or just hanging out with friends and neighbors. Whip up a side of salad and some fruits and you are good as satisfied!

Despite pizza’s status as one of America’s most popular foods, according to a recent survey by Boboli Pizza, 99% of Americans aren’t enjoying it to its fullest potential—on the grill!

Grilling pizza is a great way to get out of the kitchen and use the bounty of summer veggies in a way that can be customized to everyone’s tastes.  It’s also a great family activity.  Read on for more survey findings and some tips on grilling pizza from Boboli.
  •  76 percent of respondents said it’s hard to please everyone when it comes to choosing pizza toppings
  • Bacon may be ubiquitous in the food world, but a traditional pepperoni pie still proves to be the favorite, 64 percent love it
  • Ribs and chili on pizza, why not? 28 percent of men and 16 percent of women would try a BBQ pizza, and a chili pizza would be enjoyed by 21 percent of men and 12 percent of women
  • 36 percent of Americans think Lady Gaga would make the most interesting pizza; “Man vs. Wild” survivor Bear Grylls and Charlie Sheen weren’t too far behind with 23 and 18 percent each, First Lady Michelle Obama was favored by 17 percent and pint-sized, pickle-loving Snooki at 7 percent.
  • Americans are ‘desperate’ to eat pizza with Desperate Housewives, 20 percent chose the ladies from Wisteria Lane over characters from The Office (18%), The Big Bang Theory (16%), and Modern Family (14%)
Think outside the pizza box with these tips for making wholesome and delicious grilled pizzas this Fall.

  1. Preheat grill for 10-15 minutes on high heat (following all safety tips from your grill manufacturer of course!)
  2. If you have a gas grill, turn off one burner. If you use charcoal, push the charcoal to one side.
  3. Brush a dash of olive oil (or melted butter for dessert pizzas) on each side of your Boboli® crust. Place the crust on the side of the grill with the burner turned off or without charcoal.
  4. Grill crust 2-4 minutes per side. Remove from grill. Add toppings and return to grill for 8-10 minutes.
  5. Grill until cheese is melted and/or the crust is golden. Remove from heat and let cool for 2 minutes. ENJOY!

How do you like your pizza?

Women Share Their Battles With Breast Cancer

I had a sort of discussion with a love one who thought all the pink being show around wasn't necessary. YES IT IS NECESSARY!
It helps get the funds needed to help so many who will need help in the fight against breast cancer and it helps every to start talking and doing something about their health to ensure they can find help before something becomes 'too late' and 'I wish I had known.'

With that, I just wanted to share this story I read about these women. One thing that stands out more than ever was: "You can get breast cancer even if it does NOT run in your family" and people NEED to know this instead of feeling safe in a shell.

Eudene Miller Simmons

"Accept your faith. God has a plan for you, and you are never going to be alone."

I was diagnosed on...
"June 30, 2010."

My immediate reaction was...
"Total denial. Though I ultimately came to terms with it."

I get stressed out by...
"The stupid people that still believe they can't get breast cancer if it doesnít run in their family."

Breast cancer is...
"A sudden road block that takes a lot of time to get around. But with good care you can surpass it, and come out on top."

Read the rest of her story HERE.
