It's Not The Year - It's You!

Everywhere I look, I read things and hear people ranting on and on about eff 2011 and how bad of a year it was and just pure awful stuff. I imagine you said that about 2010 and all the other years before that.

It's not the year. It's YOU!!

The year is just time. Time passes. You choose how you live in it and what you do and will do and how you'll respond to things you cannot control.

It's not the year. It's YOU!

Stop acting like not one day in your year was good. You had great times. Remember the great times. Work on things you want to change and try to avoid having to learn the same gosh darn lessons in the same darn way every day and you'll see a difference!

It's NOT the year. It's YOU!

I have had some tough times in 2011 and I swear I would have lost my mind or done something drastic, but I waited, even when everything in me wanted to react and soon I'd feel a little better and while things didn't change. I did. My heart didn't hurt as much and I could think and wait and pray.

But I had daily little things too that were great. I can't remember them all, but I cannot say that 2011 was terrible. It was a mixture of everything as life will always give a bit of everything.

I can think of many things I want to change about me and how things are in my family but ultimately I know I cannot change other people, but I can influence them and teach and I can change how I respond and/or react.

It's NOT the YEAR. It's you!

The year cannot do anything all by itself. It's you and your family and the people in your life who will help make your life happen.
Choose how you'll respond.
Don't just get dragged along like you don't have a choice and then blame the year, others, anything and everything.

You have a choice. Not even God will take that choice from you.

Now it's 2012. Are you going to wait for it to end and echo the same sentiments about how bad it was? Or are you going to make it work!

Make it work!
