My kids are now watching cartoons that were my faves as a child.
Cartoons like Tom and Jerry and Loony Tunes and etc.
Does your child watch these old cartoons now?
At first I thought it was too much for them, but they love them just as I did. Actually I thought Tom and Jerry was just too violent :) Funny how you see things differently as a parent eh?
What were your favorite cartoons?
Do you still watch them with your children / grand children?
Some of my faves as a child:
1. Inspector Gadget
2. Tom & Jerry
3. Thundercats
4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
5. Loony Tunes
6. Captain Planet

Bugs Bunny was always my favorite, but with the new breed, I have to admit that I like SpongeBob.
ReplyDeleteMy boys used to watch the Disney classics such as Jungle Book, Pinocchio, and later they liked the Ninja Turtles and the Smurfs, and much later, the Simpsons! I watched the Disney films with them.
ReplyDeleteHi J.S. ~~ I am familiar with 'Tom and Jerry' and 'Looney Tunes' because somebody somewhere that I was watched them enough to know them. But I just didn't ever sit down and watch cartoons.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have TV all the time that I was at home and when my wife and I got one we didn't watch cartoons. I guess the kids did.
..
Scooby Doo, Alvin and the Chipmunks, DuckTales, Strawberry Shortcake, Heathcliff and the Smurfs.
ReplyDeleteBugs Bunny and The Jetsons. When my boys were little Teenage Ninja Turtles. Now I am waiting for the next generation, but no little ones yet.
ReplyDeleteI used to watch Care bears, Scooby doo, Alivin and the chipmunks, Ducktales and smurf. I do think that Tom and Jerry is a bit too violent. My kids used to watch Ben Ten but now watch more Tom and Jerry and some Pink Panter too.. but not that often as I'm restricting their TV time.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to say that Princess Nagger loves Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry...and The Roadrunner. Those were always my favorites. ;)
ReplyDeleteLuck and Fender Benders
Mighty Mouse was my most favorite, but Tom & Jerry was a close tie. My kids all watched different ones. Casper, Ninja Turtles, Looney Tunes & grandkids? SPONGEBOB.
ReplyDeleteI love Tom & Jerry and Looney Toons and since I do in home childcare, yes I still watch them.

My husband has just started watching Tom and Jerry with my son on YouTube! They love it.
ReplyDeleteMy children used to love cartoons and when they came out with Sesame street that was great. The grands love Dora.
ReplyDeleteI worried a little about how unrealistic the cartoons were when the characters would get killed and come back to life in the next scene. I felt like I was forever explaining to them that jumping off of cliffs, getting hit by cars and so forth is not safe.
Oh I love the old cartoon shows. My favorite was Tom and Jerry, and I still watch it with my nephew when he comes over.
ReplyDeleteI dislike the new cartoon with triangle faces, and shaking motion.
Smurfs were my favorite but now it's Phineas and Ferb, which I LOVE watching with my kids. It's so fun!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter doesn't have one that she likes as a favorite. She watches them all, and mostly movies, so the characters changes.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite ones were felix, popeye, looney toons was definitely one of them too.
