He's a bird dog - 4Ms

I heard this funny song on the radio and my kids and I laughed so much. It was good to laugh despite the circumstances. We were visiting my husband's sick grandfather.

I'm half asleep and trying to get this up.

I promise I'll come visit you, even if late.

The Mechanic

Only Jason Strapping Stratham knows how to kick it like the ooh la la.

I totally enjoyed this movie and I was not fooled that he would be killed at the end or that he was accepting his fate.  He is a planner. He can read the climate. That's his job. He can tell when things have changed.

The man is born for action movies.

Did you see this movie?

Then they introduced that sexy Amat Victoria Curam. Ooh la la. I wants it. It is mine.

Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) is a 'mechanic' - an elite assassin with a strict code and unique talent for cleanly eliminating targets. It's a job that requires professional perfection and total detachment, and Bishop is the best in the business. But when his mentor and close friend Harry (Donald Sutherland) is murdered, Bishop is anything but detached.

His next assignment is self-imposed - he wants those responsible dead. His mission grows complicated when Harry's son Steve (Ben Foster) approaches him with the same vengeful goal and a determination to learn Bishop's trade.

Bishop has always acted alone but he can't turn his back on Harry's son. A methodical hit man takes an impulsive student deep into his world and a deadly partnership is born. But while in pursuit of their ultimate mark, deceptions threaten to surface and those hired to fix problems become problems themselves.

Nursing The Oreo - Aloha

At first I saw this on and I was like:  Why???? Is it suggesting that breastfeeding is indecent?

Then a friend found the original for me. Yes, this is how it should be.

Now I like this ad.

Which do you prefer? And why?

Do Mac n' Cheese Better!

Sometimes that's just what the kids want...and sometimes it ends up kicking the palate into high taste gear if done right and differently.

I tried it.

You try it.

Ingredients
8 ounces cavatappi, macaroni, or other tube-shaped pasta
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt, plus more for cooking pasta
3 1/2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup finely chopped shallots
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups dry white wine
2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
7 ounces gruyère, grated
3 ounces aged gouda, grated (see Notes)
2 tablespoons plus 1 tsp. minced fresh chives
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
4 ounces crusty sourdough bread (about 1/4 loaf), torn into large pieces

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 400°. Cook pasta according to package directions in a large pot of boiling, well-salted water until tender to the bite, 7 to 12 minutes.
Drain, but do not rinse.

2. In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, melt 2 tbsp. butter.
Add shallots and cook until light golden, about 3 minutes.
Sprinkle shallot-butter mixture with flour; cook, stirring often, 1 minute.

Add wine and stir, picking up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Add cream and stir well.
Sprinkle in cheeses, one large handful at a time, stirring until each handful is mostly melted before adding the next.
Stir in 2 tbsp. chives, mustard, 1/4 tsp. salt, cayenne, and nutmeg.

Stir cooked pasta into cheese mixture, then pour all into a 2-qt. baking dish. 3. In a food processor, pulse bread with remaining 1 1/2 tbsp. butter, 1 tsp. chives, and 1/4 tsp. salt until coarse bread crumbs form.
Sprinkle bread crumbs over pasta and cheese and bake until top is browned and cheese is bubbling, 15 to 20 minutes.

Earthbound Savings: 22 Frugal Ways to Go Green

Some really good tips we can all use.

In an effort to dovetail these two purposes, we offer 22 budget-friendly ways to go green in honor of April 22.

1. Sign up for the "no solicitation" registry.
That way, you can avoid getting credit card offers and other ads which will reduce paper clutter and save trees.

2. Shop online to reduce your carbon footprint and save money.
According to  a study  by Carnegie Melon's Green Institute, shopping online reduced carbon emissions by 35 percent.
The abundance of online coupons from such sites as FreeShipping.org makes this green practice a no-brainer.

3. Get out of the gym and exercise outdoors.
Freeze your gym membership and save up to 75 percent (or more) per month during the summer. You'll also rely less on those energy-sucking cardio machines.

4. Close blinds on hot days.
Before you head out for the day, close your blinds to keep the sun from warming your home while you're gone. Doing so will reduce your dependence on air conditioning and save energy.

5. Send an e-gift certificate for special occasions.
Not only are e-gift cards super convenient, you're also using less plastic resources and reducing fuel associated with shipping. If an e-card isn't available from a desired retailer, purchase gift cards at a discount from sites like Gift Card Granny.
That way you recycle someone else's unwanted plastic and score great savings.

6. Eliminate paper invites and digitize your event announcement.
Save on postage and printing while reducing paper by using sites like pingg.com to create electronic announcements and invitations.

7. Use an irrigation controller to manage watering.
20 to 50 percent of your water use goes toward the landscape, even more in certain areas of the country. Invest in a controller to schedule irrigation to reduce overwatering.

8. Swap your stuff!
Use Swap.com to trade books, CDs, DVDs, sporting equipment and other goods. Not only are you saving money, but you're reducing future trash by re-using someone else's stuff.

9. Walk or bike to work to save on fuel.
With gas prices peaking  at nearly $4 a gallon, you're doing your wallet and your health some good by walking or biking to work. If this isn't feasible, try public transportation.

10. Wash clothes with cold water.
Though some clothes suggest warm or hot water for washing, you can reduce your monthly heating bills and save energy by turning all cycles to cold. Don't worry, your clothes will still get clean.

11. Use mobile coupons to cut paper clutter.
Download the Coupon Sherpa mobile app to access discounts without using paper coupons. You can also save coupons to your supermarket loyalty card for paperless grocery savings.

12. Plug electronics into power strips.
Buy a surge protector for pricey electronics to save your valuables in the event of a lightning strike, and power down when not in use to cut five percent from your electricity bill.

13. Power down cable boxes.
Doing so will save you $40 per box, annually. You can also cut down on DVD waste by opting for Netflix, Hulu and Amazon streaming.

14. Go paperless.
This is a no-brainer -- when banks and service providers offer you the option to go paperless, take it. Check out Lifehacker's guide to going paperless for more ideas.

15. Hang dry your clothes.
Do laundry on the weekends and hang dry your clothes to save energy and reduce your electricity bill. 16. Shop garage and estate sales for clothes and home goods. Recycling other people's unwanted items will not only save money but also reduces trash build-up in landfills.

17. Put the blow dryer down.
Consider going "au natural" several times during the week to save on energy spent by blow dryers, flat irons and other electronic hair products.

18. Take short showers.
The feeling of hot water on your skin is often hard to resist, but taking short, cooler showers reduces your heating bill and saves water and energy.

19. Wash dishes in a sink full of water.
Instead of washing dishes with the tap on, fill one side of the sink with soapy water to clean dishes, and only run the dishwasher when it's full to save energy.

20. Get a water filter and reusable water bottle.
Over 80 percent of plastic water bottles are tossed -- not recycled -- yielding 1.5 tons of waste per year, according to Mother Nature Network. Invest in a reusable water bottle (or two) and a filter, if your tap water is lacking.

21. Plant native shrubs and plants.
Native plants and shrubs subsist on whatever precipitation occurs in your area, making them an eco-friendly alternative to non-native plants that require additional watering and maintenance.

22. Use an eco-friendly shower head.
Basic showerheads disperse quite a bit of water per use, so investing in an eco-friendly one like the  Oxygenics PowerMassage Handheld Shower Head can save up to 70 percent in water and energy consumption.

Hundreds of thousands may lose Internet in July - Bloggers Beware!

So you bloggers probably should go check your computers so you don't have a heart attack come July if you can't get online.

Of course I take everything with a grain of salt, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared right?

WASHINGTON (AP) - For computer users, a few mouse clicks could mean the difference between staying online and losing Internet connections this summer.  Unknown to most of them, their problem began when international hackers ran an online advertising scam to take control of infected computers around the world. In a highly unusual response, the FBI set up a safety net months ago using government computers to prevent Internet disruptions for those infected users. But that system is to be shut down.  The FBI is encouraging users to visit a website run by its security partner, http://www.dcwg.org , that will inform them whether they're infected and explain how to fix the problem. After July 9, infected users won't be able to connect to the Internet.

Read the story here.

Can You Forgive Yourself As A Mother?

I am a mother. I am awesome at my job. Sometimes (yes sometimes) I wish I was my own mother (just to see if I"m actually up to par).
I suck at my job. I'm hard on myself. I try to remember to ask for forgiveness from my kids when I need to, and know I was wrong to shout at them, or not handle a certain situation differently....

When I was a kid, I thought I would be the best mom in the world because I never had/grew up with mine and knew how I would have loved my mother to be. I think I have accomplished some of this, but other times I just suck.  I try to ask forgiveness and I'm learning that I'm not perfect.

Some days I outshine my expectations of myself.

If only I could forgive myself as easily as my children forgive me.

But I will keep trying and learning. Maybe then later, I'll be better.

I'm Answering Your Questions

Judy from J'S Thoughts - A Twinless Twin tagged me and I'm playing with her fun.

1. 1.How long have you been blogging?
Since 2008. I still feel new at it. That is a good thing. I don't really want to get burned out just yet :)

2. Are you a procrastinator or do you take care of things right away?
I am in the middle. I procrastinate long enough to freak me out and then I kill myself trying to be on time and then omg the rush :) I have no idea why I do this, but it seems to happen every time.

3. If you have siblings, are you close?
I found out I had siblings when I met my mother.
Two brothers and a sister. Different father. I ...we are not close. Sad.

4. What's the best thing about your job? the worst?
I get to watch my children grow up.

5. If you had $1,000 to spend on anything you wanted, what would you buy?
If I had $1000 to spend on anything, I'd spend it on uniform for my kids and a gift for my husband that I really want to get him. Then yes bills.

6.  How long has it been since you visited your hometown?
I visited my hometown in August of 2011. Glad my mom got to see the kids, but it wasn't as I thought it would be. I didn't get to spend the time I wanted with my mother. I'm still a bit disappointed.

7.  Have you decorated for Easter/Spring? please share pictures.
No. I didn't decorate for Easter/Spring. I just changed sheets and sweaters :)

8.  Do you sleep with a fan on?
Sometimes I sleep with the fan on, especially when it's really hot. But it's on low.

9.  The beach or the mountains?
Both. I love mountains and beaches.

10. If you had to choose only one which would you pick: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or blogging?
I think I'd choose blogging. I started with it first and it gives more elaboration.

11.  When shopping, do you use coupons or shop around for the best deal?
Sometimes I shop around for the best deal and sometimes I use coupons.
