I do shy away from purchasing any toy that is a battery drain, but when you have children, sometimes you just can't help it.
The boy's birthday was last month. What did I get him? What do you get a seven year old boy? Yes a digital toy that brought much excitement to the child and much cunning to the parent :)
After one week, the batteries flickered and died! Maybe they were in the toy too long? I don't know, but my poor heart almost gave out. I was hoping for at least a three week use! So I bargained with the boy, show me how responsible you can be and soon as your charts fill up, you'll get more batteries.
Or, you can save up and buy your own from your pittances you receive for helping around the house. That didn't sit well with him. He does NOT want to part with his coins!
I began looking into rechargeable batteries and systems, and then the postman brought a surprise! We have batteries! Ooh the boy was so excited, as was I, because it means I could delay shopping for batteries.
Now he is enjoying his little leapfrog gadget and all is quiet (NOT) in the mansion. Of course he and the sibling has to fight over who should share and blah blah blah.
We are trying out the Energizer® Ultimate® Lithium batteries and I think I'm in love! Now I'll have to look into getting a few of their rechargeable ones for the toy when these are done. It's almost a month now and the set in the controller is still going. That is very good news for all involved.
We didn't get one pack, but two packages of the Energizer® Ultimate Lithium AA batteries, now improved to last up to 9X longer in digital cameras (previously 8X longer), when compared to Energizer® MAX® AA batteries.
So when that first pack is done, we'll still have the back up. I must admit he doesn't play it everyday, all day and for too many hours because of other things scheduled for him to be doing, so maybe that weighs into the batteries lasting longer. Whichever way, I'm simply delighted!
These improvements also translate to extended performance in other high tech devices like photo flashes, video recorders, GPS units, game console controllers, flashlights and headlights.Features and Functions
And, 9x longer means 9x less waste.
- Last up to 9x longer in digital cameras (versus Energizer® MAX®. results vary by camera.)
- Weigh 1/3 less than standard alkaline batteries
- Perform in extreme temperatures from -40°F to 140°F
- Holds power for 15 years when not in use
- Leak resistant construction
How about you win two packs to try out? Come on I know you want batteries! Come enter below in the form!
I have this running joke that soon I'll be asking for batteries as gifts :)
