Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self. Cyril Connolly (1903 - 1974)

Quest For My Flat

Once upon a time I used to have very flat stomach. Then I had two children and it has never been the same.
The stomach has lost it's identity.
And once I had a cute innie and now it's pouting.

I'm pouting too.
I'm working out.
Trying to get a somewhat acceptable tummy without holding my breath all day, but it's been illusive.
So I don't have the celeb regimen down or surgeries, but gosh darn it I'm a skinny girl. Why can't the blub fall into place!
The little pooch: These women are likely to be busy mums or have demanding careers - hey may even be a gym junkie

Yes it would make me happy if it obeyed.

So I've been working out.

Wait. The reasons I began working out?

1. I know it's good for my body and self to invest in taking care of it
2. I gained 10 pounds. YES TEN!
Story: Couldn't breathe for almost a year, went to the doc. Thought I had PN. Found out it was just allergies. Doc gives me meds. Two months later, I put on TEN POUNDS!!

In all the eight years of my life here in this country. I've never gained or lost a pound. Nada. zilch.
So er, is it because I'm getting old? NO, I don't think so. I think it's the meds.

So now:
3. I'm trying to lose those things off my butt and thighs. Because I am NOT purchasing anymore jeans. Something's gotta give, and it will NOT be our non-existent pocketbook.

So here I am.

And I found that I should be doing these neat tricks below.  I will do them, but I'm still going to keep my 45 minute work out to keep other areas alive and working.

Do you exercise routinely?

Step 1: Exercise
But not so fast with the crunches! It takes 250,000 crunches to burn one pound of fat. And working those muscles underneath won't matter if you still have a layer of fat covering them. Plus, crunches are one of the main culprits of back injuries, according to recent research. You won't look so good on the beach if you're bent over with an achy back. Instead, try these core-stabilization exercises to build the strong, sleek, sexy stomach `you're after:

Get down on all fours and place your hands on the floor so that they're slightly wider than your shoulders. Lower your body until your chest nearly touches the floor. Pause at the bottom, and then push yourself back to the starting position as quickly as possible. If your hips sag at any point during the exercise, your form has broken down. Consider that your last repetition and end the set.

Start to get into a pushup position, but bend your elbows and rest your weight on your forearms instead of on your hands. Your body should form a straight line from your shoulders to your ankles. Brace your core by contracting your abs as if you were about to be punched in the gut. Hold this position while breathing deeply.

Hip Raises: Lie face up on the floor with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Raise your hips so your body forms a straight line from your shoulders to your knees. Hold for up to 5 seconds in the up position, then lower your body back to the starting position.
Also use combo exercises, which target more than one muscle group, to get your heart pumping and ramp up your metabolism for up to 48 hours after your workout.

  1. Wish I could get more exercise. I've found though that a rawfood's diet melts belly fat and drops weight rapidly with or without exercise. Perhaps because it heals the metabolism.

  2. You wrote this article for me. How sweet of you, lol. I have the same issues with my tummy.

  3. I'm totally hearing you on this score. I have a pouting tummy and I'm getting, too. GRRR!!! While I'm abled in body and mind, then I fight with all I've got to regain control over these matters. YAY for me!!!! Good reminders here, girl!
