Resumes For Children - A Guide To Giving A Child That Edge To Succeed!

When I heard of this book, I simply had to read it! I've never heard of a resume for a child before.

It is intriguing.

I read through the book and got to see the various resumes a child, 17 and under can make and, also how a child would do a cover letter along with the help of their family.

I really think it's a great idea for children to get into the habit of doing resumes for themselves of their accomplishments throughout their lives and surely when they get to adulthood, it will not seem so daunting a task.

At the moment I document things my children do in diary form, but the resume idea sounds so much more ideal and I love it!

Resumes for Children! Children will benefit from having resumes, and here's how:

  • Shows a child is more than their report card says they are
  • Boosts their self-esteem
  • Helps a child better articulate their awards, accomplishments, interests, etc.
  • A resume for a child shows validation from Mom and Dad
  • A resume for a child presents a child in such a way that others will want to invest in that child

Choosing activities that provide your child with life skills as well as build character is a key element to their success. Documenting those activities is also a key element to their success.
Why? Keeping before them a present visual reminder of their activities, accomplishments, etc., gives encouragement, pride in what they do and have done. It also allows them to see how well they have progressed over the years. In other words, you will assist your child in "behaving" their way to success.
