When I Say Camp - You Say?

When you hear camp, what comes to your mind?

Well camping has changed so much over the years. Now you can even have online camps! I kid you not!

Leapfrog Summer Camp is live, and you know your kids would love to know all about it! It will help your sanity as a parent to have activities at the ready to keep your children occupied.

Each week leapfrog sends out an email with kid-friendly activities to do.

My children love the online games and printable puzzles and worksheets.

Baby girl (5) did the words and so had to re-do to get the mystery message
It's really fun what leapfrog is doing with this summer camp.

If you think that learning should always be in season, you’re right! Studies have shown that when students return to school after a long summer vacation, they've lost about one month’s worth of learning.
LeapFrog Summer Camp is designed to keep the learning going all summer long through exciting weekly themes and free, do-anywhere learning activities that explore geography, writing, science, art and more. Sign up to receive a Summer Camp email every other week.
The 7 yr old got it right the first go
This week is: Puzzle Time — Play with puzzles while building logic & reasoning skills.

Secret Message (I like puzzles)

Kids like puzzles. Successfully decoding a secret message gives kids a great feeling of accomplishment. While having fun your child will also be working on identifying and writing the initial letter in a word, important skills for reading and spelling.

Then he got tossed in the mazed :) but recovered.
We've missed a few because of daily activities, but we'll definitely do them. The kids choose which ones they want to do and they are excited to try them all. I love their spirits with this Leapfrog Summer Camp!

I'm really loving these activities. It does keep their brain active and learning.

  1. That is pretty neat, but I'm kind of old fashioned when it comes to camp-Summer camp to me is going away and doing fun activities outdoors.

Like sleep away camp or day camp of sorts.

  2. I went to camp when I was a kid, and all I remember was Monday we hiked, and learned about camping. Tuesday was craft day and we got to learn how to make all kinds of things. Wednesdays was swim day. Oh, and they picked us up in a school bus at 7 a.m. & we got home at 6:00 p.m. Thursday we learned how to ride a horse. I even remember the name of the place. Francis Wrecker School of Horsemanship. Why I remember that I have no clue. LOL Friday was also swim day and weekend we stayed home. It was great and loved every minute of it.
