I was asked to try Smart Ones and I wavered for a bit. I thought to myself, I'm not on a diet! I don't need to be on a diet! Is she capable of seeing my baby pooch that wont go away through the computer screen? :)
But then I thought, it's not just about being on a diet. It's also about having healthy choices and some nights, especially when you have kids, very quick and healthy choices!
I agreed and a few nights later we had Smart Ones dining in our home.
Needless to say, I was surprise how budget friendly the single meals were and how good the meals tasted! The kids WANTED seconds! Wait, not that it's the first time they want seconds, but it's usually for special meals like my red beans and rice! :)
But these few nights, they did the 'Oliver.' :) Y'all red that book right?
And I gladly obliged, kinda. At one point I was hoping they didn't want anymore because I actually wanted to devour the rest of what was in the pot! I know. I know. Very selfish of me and all that, but you need to try the Smart Ones meal varieties and you'll understand.
I had always thought these kinds of meals were very expensive and so I've never looked in that part of the freezer before!
We sampled the Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo. I love anything that mentions Alfredo! And the Chicken Marsala, which I want to make from scratch one day!
I intend to also try the Sesame Noodles and the BBQ Wrap!

I cook all our meals from scratch so it's great to be able to have some short cuts every now and then.
Are you saying yes to portion control?
Are you on a diet right now?

These sound quite interesting and the fact that they're kid friendly is definitely going to appeal to a LOT of moms :)
ReplyDeleteI'm on something I guess you can refer to as a 'diet'--I've cut out wheat, gluten, dairy and am cutting down considerably on sugars for health reasons.
It sucks but it has to be done!
glad you liked them, I see them in the store, but haven't tried them... YET :)
