I get to choose today's theme. I racked my brain for something and I realize when I was a child, there were songs some adults used to listen to that would just upset me because they were either eye-watering boring, made me blush or just plain make me want to kick the radio!
Come share with us what your parents/family used to listen to that kicked up your thermometer a notch!
Theme/Songs your mom/parents used to listen to when you were a child. Even if you hated them/loved them. Please share and how they made you feel.
This song I've loved since the first time I've heard it as a child. I'd love to dance to it! It's so right! Definitely an oldie but always goodie!
I remember this song making me blush :) I'd pretend I wasn't actually hearing the words when adults were around. Mind you I did not grow up with my parents.
Beres Hammond is a really good reggae artist and I love his voice.
Beres Hammond (born Hugh Beresford Hammond, 28 August 1955, Annotto Bay, Saint Mary, Jamaica) is a reggae singer known in particular for his romantic lovers rock and soulful voice. While his career began in the 1970s, he reached his greatest success in the 1990s.
Born the ninth of ten children; Hammond grew up listening to his father's collection of American soul and jazz music; including Sam Cooke and Otis Redding. He was further influenced by the native musics of ska and rocksteady, in particular Alton Ellis.

Unchained Melody is beautiful. Loved the introduction to Beres Hammond. Great 4M picks, my friend and a fun theme!
ReplyDeleteThank you Cathy.
DeleteWhat a smooth voice Beres Hammond has going on. There are so many songs from my childhood, and I remember how they made me feel. My family loved music, and everyone could dance and sing but me (but I still loved the music).
ReplyDeleteWhy weren't you twirled around!! So much fun to dance too. I'm so glad you had music!
DeleteMusic contains so much!
Did you know that Unchained Melody is my and Dave's song. It was the first song we ever danced too on our first date! :) Lovin' that song for sure! Thanks honey! Now your reggae song is so cool! I'm luvin' your choices. Great theme sweetie! I think another theme close to this as to what our siblings grew up with. I don't remember do you have other sisters or brothers??? I had one brother, but I also have a step-brother who I just love also. He's such a sweetie! Hugs and thanks for a great theme pick and great tunes as usual.
ReplyDeleteOooh I'm glad I picked a special song for you Dolly! :) Enjoy it.
DeleteAnd yes I do have siblings, but I didn't grow up with them. We actually do not have a relationship.
Thanks Dolly.
Fantastic choice Thr Righteous Brothers I was a big Phil Spector fan as a kid
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastico week :-)
Thank you Steve :)
DeleteUnchained Melody has always been a favorite of mine - my friends and I used to sing it all the time! :) Thanks for the cool theme! ;) Have a great week, Callie! :)
ReplyDeleteI Played in the Band and Sang in the Choir with A Boy Named Sue – that’s how it Used To Be but now Goodbye Looks Good On Me
Thank you Stacy!
DeleteSo funny I can appreciate the first song now but as a kid I couldn't stand it, I thought it was so outdated when my parents listened to it and couldn't wait to listen to 'my music'. I hope to be back in May. I am working on another hop and I just can't do several hops at once like other dedicated bloggers. (P.S. I could have maybe incorporated Music Monday into the hop on Freebie weeks but they went away in April.)
ReplyDeleteI totally get you on the "my music' that's how I felt :)
DeleteAnd come back when you can darlin.
Great songs, and I love hearing the memories behind them. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThank you Danielle :)
DeleteI love the unchained melody song too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Amanda.
