It is not that I feel guilty taking care of myself, it's just that I do not seem to have enough time in my day to focus on me.
I must admit though, that having to take care of my children has helped me in many ways to think about taking care of myself and also doing most of these things.
For instance, eating healthy. I have to wake up early each morning to prepare breakfast and lunch for the children before school. I do healthy meals all around and I love that by feeding them breakfast, I also get to eat. If I didn't make breakfast for them, I'd likely not eat that most important meal of the day either.
I also make an extra lunch for myself while making theirs. So instead of grabbing something unhealthy or passing up lunch altogether, I actually have something already prepared to go.
Same thing for dinner.
I do this sporadically. See I told the truth :) But I wish I was more disciplined about it because I know how beneficial it is and I know I'd feel much better during the days!
My children love to read and so do I. After all, I taught them and encourage their love of books...and then of course it might just be in the genes :)
I love finding new books to read to and with them. I also love just sitting with them while we all read our own books!
We also do puzzles and games together, which turns out to be quite fun, especially when we put an element of competition in it.
We play races with the puzzles, word searches etc, to see who can finish first.
We take time to bond beyond me just being mom with the paddle :)
We share in our church community. It is good to have people's interests at heart and be hands on in doing something about it.
We do charities and missions and it helps us to grow and see people and understand that everyone is important and need relationships to thrive.
Of course doing all of those things is great and provides balance, but I also know that I need a supplement to aid with it all. I do take an iron supplement for being anemic, but I hadn't yet begun taking the recommended probiotic until I began this Provella introductory program. I am expecting good things.
