All Night Long and During The Day Too - Aloha

Last night I stayed up all night until 8:30am doing my daughter's hair. Of course she fell asleep and so I was doing the pretzel maneuver, trying not to wake her up and to get the hair done.

I was fortified to finish, and I'm glad that I got it all done in one swoop even though it robbed me of sleep.
I also have to say; Thank God it's Summer break! She just went to her real bed later and slept until 11am.
I'll share photos of her hair later.

Me? I went to clean the bathroom, floors, do laundry and the dishes! Then I took a bath and went down at 12pm for a nap.

Woke at 2pm. What a day!

So in my oldies, I pulled an all nighter. Of course I wasn't partying, but I'm sure that I might be just a bit crabby. It just hasn't had reason to surface. However I can feel the brain burn. Some of you might know what that feels like.

My question for this Aloha Friday?

1. Have you pulled an all-nighter before?
Would you do it again?

We've been missing Aloha Friday. If you are missing it, then do hang out with Pamela - and I and we'll visit y'all too.
You can also take part in Amanda's Two Question Thursday which is going strong many years now.

We'll continue in honor of Kailani's fun rules:
“Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your Aloha Friday post link below. Also, please consider linking back to this post so that others can join in, too! Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!” – Kailani

  1. Yes, back in college I pulled many all nighters. Too many times I had unit plans due and did not finish them until the dead line because I was not satisfied with them.

  2. I tried working nights once, and I lasted three weeks, and ended up sick as a dog. My body sees light & it says it's time to be awake! I use to tend bar in my early 20's & we would close the bar at 2 a.m. & then go out to unwind at a all night place. When we walked out of there it was like we were all vampires to the bright, bright sun. Ahhhh those were the days! bwahahahahaha

    1. My SIL is going through the zombie feeling of working nights, sleeping days etc. Poor girl.
      Thanks for sharing Doll

  3. I look forward to seeing pictures of the hairstyle Colette! I have never been able to deliberately stay up for an entire night. Sadly this has only happened when family members died. It was particularly bad when my twin died. Have a good week.

  4. i can not hang anymore...
when i was younger, i could hang out all night (as in going to 24 hour clubs AFTER all the bars closed.) now, i need my sleep to much to have time for that...

    1. :) They do say, there is a time for everything eh

  5. How hilarious that you're writing about this today. I was just thinking about it after checking on my daughter (who supposedly went to sleep at her bedtime) who was up dancing in her room at four in the morning. On a SCHOOL NIGHT, oy!! Last day of school today. I guess she's excited. she's going to be a bear to wake up I do believe.

Glad you got your daughter's hair done. I've seen your work online, so I'm betting it's gorgeous. :)

    1. Oh little girls eh! But tis a life that moves and so why not? :)

But yes the waking up is a killa!

Thanks girl. I'll share it soon.

  6. Yes recently and it's awful. I'm not sure how I did it as a youngster. It's so much harder now with all this responsibility. lol
