Sensory Accuracy Of The MIRA Digital Kitchen Scale!

I was given the The MIRA Digital Kitchen Scale for review

Do you have a kitchen scale? And if so , what's the silliest thing you've weighed?

I weighed  a teabag! :)

I never had a kitchen scale before now.

When I used to cook as  a child, then I would measure ingredients. As I got older and more used to the process, I measured with feel and knowledge.  You could say I'm a pro now :)

As I became an adult, I had no use for a kitchen scale.

When I was offered one to review, I had to think twice about it. What was the use? Do I really need one?

Yes I do.

I have kids and I cook with them regularly, and they learn better with weight and measurements. Measuring cups are all find and useful, but sometimes you need flour in larger quantities.

The MIRA Glass Platform Digital Kitchen Scale with Large Display is a neat little gadget. It doesn't take up much space at all and because it's flat, it's very easy to store.
It is very easy to use and I have to admit, I enjoyed weighing many of the things in my kitchen, just as my children did!

Features I love:

  • Sensory Sensitivity
  • Auto shut off after a minute or so of inactivity (Not while using, but if haven't been touched for awhile)
  • I can choose grams, pounds, ounces or milliliters
  • Easy to clean
  • Tare Function

The Tare function helps you to measure things that would require a large plate or a bowl. You place a large plate/bowl on scale while it's turned on. Then press the on/off button so the weight will go back to 0 units. Then you can add more weight (water in bowl, milk, or dried ingredients/meet etc) to the scale and the weight WITHOUT the bowl/plate will be shown.
Pretty cool right?

Having a flat surface makes this scale much more convenient.

Let's talk about the sensor. It is so accurate that it weighed a dried use teabag! Of course I had to weigh it, I just had to know! And yes I'm thinking if it would fetch an ant too!

This scale has everything you'd want in a kitchen scale.

Do you own a kitchen scale?

I was given the above scale for review. All opinions are my own however and no other compensation was exchanged.

  1. That is one cool kitchen scale Colette! I have a very old one. This reminds me that it is time to get a new one. These days I am guessing measurements. At times the scale seems as if it working and at other times it is not functioning well. Take care and enjoy the rest of your week.

  5. I find weighing ingredients to be much more accurate than measuring.

  7. I love the tare function. I used to weigh things to sell on e-bay so I could calculate the postage.
