My pastor's wife suggested that I read Power of a Praying Wife. So this is what I'm reading now. I think my heart is not well because I feel rather cynical about much of what I've read. Don't get me wrong, I've been a praying wife. I pray for my children, I pray for my husband and I pray just because and for regular folks and everyday. But for some reason, my heart right now is hurt and unwell and it's hard to swallow what I'm reading in this book.
I've pledged to go on anyway and to pray for my heart, so we'll see. After all, why not lay down the white flag for the one who has always been there and always will be eh.
Have you read this book before?

Totally rockin' songs. Love the White Flag with "Angel" in it... or wait he's doin' "Bones" these days isn't he. Very cool. Your first White Flag is totally new to me too, but very cool my friend! YOU'RE ROCKIN' THE HOUSE & have a great week! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you Marie.
DeleteWhite Flag is so pretty. I understand about one's heart not being well. All we can do is pray for God's understanding and guidance to help us change it. I have found when I totally surrender my needs over to Him, then He is able to make the difference where I couldn't by myself. It was so lovely to dance with you today to these beautiful tunes.
ReplyDeleteThat I am trying to do Cathy. Thank you for sharing. *HUGS*
Deleteprayer is powerful.. never forget that
ReplyDeleteThank you Noelle.
DeleteI will not. Just need to trust again.
I do believe in the power of prayer but I have to admit that there has been times I questioned if God really cared for my prayers. Honestly, my life is full of twists and turns that I never imagined and thought I might have steered clear of but God has answered my prayers. I do have to remind myself that He is not bound by my time frames and my simple knowledge. These are good choices for today. Thanks for sharing. I hope your spirits are lifted up.
ReplyDeleteI read this keenly because this is where I am. Thank you so much for sharing.
DeleteI will cling to hope.
Prayer in all forms is very powerful indeed. I hope your heart heals soon.
ReplyDeleteAs for your musical pick it is perfect!

ReplyDeleteThank you Amiko.
DeleteI will keep plugging away at it. God surely will never leave.
sometimes when the heart hurts, the mind numbs. but persistence pays off for yourself. sometimes we do not know what we are praying for, god knows what is best for us. then again, there are some lives that just seems to be troubled again and again, life is not fair. I hope you will regain your strength and your happiness soon.
ReplyDeleteAhh fair. It makes you wonder how you try to be a good person so much and just end up with most of the suffering. Maybe it's a kind of law. Oh well.
DeleteThank you girl. I'll keep fighting. Surely it will pass.
Power of a Praying Wife looks like a nice book. I'm curious how it would work for my kind of personality. My prayers are brief and are usually whirls in my head. Can't remember the last I knelt in prayer. Hope you find something good out of the book when you finish reading it.

I kneel, stand, walk, run, and pray :)

Of course there at times when different prayers are needed by you even.
