A friend invited me on a drive to Georgia with her. She was dropping off a child and visiting many friends she hadn't seen in awhile since she moved to LA.
I thought about it and then said yes. I actually prayed about it and God put things in place to make the trip a go.
We didn't do sightseeing or anything like that. It was just a visit. A long drive, but I'm used to long drives. After all we drove to Alaska right :)
We did see part of the Savannah Rapids and had plans to visit another day when it was cooler, but timing didn't work out well. It's a beautiful place where you can rent kayaks, jog, walk, exercise, have picnics and all sorts of family outing together.
It was such a nice trip. I wasn't stressed out at all and had a good time even with kids driving us bonkers ever so often.
Usually the trips I've been on, I felt left out and stuck in a room with kids, while adults play. I also end up really stressed out to the point of gritting my teeth, to where I just do not want to go on vacations anymore. But this trip was just simple and nice.
I have to say I love Georgia. I love the rolling hills, the beautiful homes, schools and the space to have a nice yard to actually kick a ball without it going over to the neighbors house! I would live there.
We left on last Saturday and came home yesterday Sunday evening. It's nice to use my own toilet :)
And it was nice hanging out with a friend and seeing that they are real, cool and down-to-earth.
Back to real life again and all the things of preparing for back to school.
Did y'all travel anywhere this summer?
On the trip we listened to music and chatted like crazy. This song was playing and I just can't get it out of my mind.
I LOVE this song!
