Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self. Cyril Connolly (1903 - 1974)

What If It's My Fault #3

I've always thought about that. It is my fault. I made decisions on my own that brings these results. When I was making those decisions, I didn't think of asking God to help me or what was his plans for my future.

So what if all this misery is my fault? After all, we do have free will.

"What if we landed in this tough spot not because the Lord directly led us there, but because we followed our own noses?
We sometimes cause our own pain.
Our problems often result from sheer selfishness or stupidity. What then?"

Even then, "Our God is a God who not merely restores, but takes up our mistakes and follies into His plan for us and brings good out of them. " - J.I. Packer

Now that explains Romans 8:28

So it's not just about what's been done to you, but also the choices we've made that did not line up with God's plans for our lives.

That is hope. And now I must learn to stop blaming myself and my choices and letting them hold me back.

How do you replenish your spirit? How do you find hope?

  1. Once in a while I do fall into a place like this, but it doesn't last long. I force myself to do things to get out of that mode.
