Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self. Cyril Connolly (1903 - 1974)

Do life - The Christmas Tree In February - Everything - #Music

My Christmas tree is still up. I'm not sure how this defines my state. But I'm fighting a sort of depression. Not sure why, but it's happening. I'm sure it's from a bunch of things.

Of course if you were in my everyday life, you wouldn't think for one second I might be depressed. But it's happening. I'm just not wallowing in it at all.

I get up, love my kids, get them to where they need to be. I exercise. I do chores. I go.  I don't sit and wallow, yet I can tell that my 'joy' isn't there. There's a cloud. A hanger-on that wont leave.

I realize, the last time I felt this way, was after giving birth to my son. It was post partum depression. I'm waiting for that lightness I felt when it finally lifted. It was like a physical weight lifted.

This is going to be a rough week, but I'm going to bat, because this is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Until them, I'll be doing everything......

You're picking up toys on the living room floor
For the 15th time today
Matching up socks, sweeping up lost
Cheerios that got away
You put a baby on your hip and color on your lips
Head out the door
While I may not know you I bet I know you
Wonder sometimes does it matter at all
Well let me remind you it all matters just as long as you

Do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you
Cause He made you to do
Every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do

Maybe you're that guy with the suit and tie
Maybe your shirt says your name
You may be hooking up mergers, cooking up burgers
But at the end of the day

Little stuff, big stuff in-between stuff
God sees it all the same
And while I may not know you I bet I know you
Wonder sometimes does it matter at all
Well let me remind you it all matters just as long as you do

Well maybe you're sitting in math class
Maybe you're on a mission in the Congo
Maybe you're working at the office
Singing along with the radio
Maybe you're dining at a five star
Or feeding orphans in Myanmar
Anywhere and everywhere you are
Whatever you do it all matters
So do what you do and don't ever forget
to do

  1. Those moody, broody blues hit us all from time to time without explanation and blows our expectations right out the door. Just PUSH (pray until something happens) your way through, love. Everyone on dance floor is ready to help pull you out of your slump. Saying a prayer for ya, dearie! Sending big hugs to you!!!

    1. I welcome all prayers Cathy. Thank you!
      I love that PUSH.

  2. I do feel this way at times also. It is best to keep busy like mom's do and before you know it, the joy will be back. Take care and do something nice for yourself!

    1. Thank you very much MaryAnn.
I do stay busy. I know that is best.
      The joy will return.
Just have to traverse the valley right now.

  3. Nice selection.

    Will be praying for you.

    1. Thank you Patrick.
      I really appreciate it.

  4. New song for me, but time to boogie for sure, but more importantly I love the message in the song. It brings a smile to this face in everything that you do. You're such a sweet person my Callie. In whatever you do makes me smile. I wish I had more time to do more things with you and you know what I mean. HUGS

    1. *HUGS*
      You are a sweetheart Dolly.
      Thank you! *HUGS*

  5. Oh great song. I'm gonna share this on my personal facebook account. I've never heard of it, but I absolutely love the lyrics. I love visiting you on Mondays and finding Christian songs like this. I don't really listen to Christian music, and I wouldn't know where to start to find good ones. That's why I like it here on Monday. Thanks for this little bit of worship music! I love it!

    1. Thank you Janice for sharing.
I"m very glad you enjoy visiting.
      You can find songs at

  6. LOVE that song, Callie! I'm sorry you're still having a rough time - if it makes you feel a smidge better, there was one year (just a couple years ago) where I ended up leaving the Christmas tree up until almost June. That was definitely one of "those" years. :) Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, my friend - this too shall pass. ((HUGZ!!))

I Lived and i’ll Pray For You because i’m at the Bathroom Sink and Crushin’ It!

    1. Ahh Stacy, I might just be doing one of those years.
      It's still up!
      But indeed it will pass.
      Thank you. *HUG*

  7. Wonderful song by Steven Curtis Chapman !! A video fun!

  8. I'm so sorry to hear of your depression, Colette. I also suffer from depression - mostly seasonal but occasionally triggered by circumstance. So I know what you mean by feeling like a physical weight has been lifted once it leaves.

You do things I usually don't, though. The best I could do during the worst of my depression was to get up and be present for my kids. I didn't exercise, or even try to snap out of it. I know it's a good idea to keep doing the things you love that bring you joy, though. Because one day, the sun will break through the clouds and the joy will return.

    1. Thank you Kim.
      I gotta keep living.
I know this pass...just gotta win.

  9. You and me both, Colette. Although I know exactly why I've been in a bad mood. I hope your mood lifts. I'll be better come May.

    1. Thank you Joyce.
I hope you feel well soon too!

  10. Good for you for not giving in! Saying thanks that this is already won. :)

  11. Got love the minion and great song for the week.
