I Am Not Alone - #Music

I've been having a whale of a time pushing off and out of the holidays. It's like I'm fighting depression. It's getting much better now, but my Christmas tree is still up!

I miss my mother being here. I wish I had more love and support. I know my children loves me, but sometimes you just want adult mingle.

I'm sure with continued positive hope, exercise, music and routine, I'll get back into the thick of things.

I just want to live purposefully.

Have you bounced back as yet?

When I walk through deep waters
I know that You will be with me
When I'm standing in the fire
I will not be overcome
Through the valley of the shadow
I will not fear

I am not alone
I am not alone
You will go before me
You will never leave me

In the midst of deep sorrow
I see Your light is breaking through
The dark of night will not overtake me
I am pressing into You
Lord, You fight my every battle
And I will not fear

You amaze me
Redeem me
You call me as Your own

You're my strength
You're my defender
You're my refuge in the storm
Through these trials
You've always been faithful
You bring healing to my soul

  1. I bounced back fairly quickly this year....but I never got much into the holidays in the first place and that could very well be why. I am just ready to take this year on and make it a fantastic one!

I hope you find some peace of mind soon....my favorite depression kicker is moving around, but it's hard to convince yourself to do anything in the throes of depression. I think once it starts warming up some it will just naturally get better. And hey - the days are slowly but surely getting longer now (the sunlight, I mean :) )

    1. I'll bounce out, I try to be mellow with these things and let them pass through.

I just want it gone though.

I think my exercising is helping, so that's good.

Thank you and definitely I'm looking forward to warmer weather!

  2. I'm right there with you on the post-holiday blues. And I'm SO HAPPY to know that your tree is still up, because mine is, too! Whew! It's nice to know I'm not alone. :) Wish you lived closer, I bet our blues wouldn't be so blue! :)

LOVE the song, Callie - and keep in mind, you, my friend, are NOT alone. ((HUGZ!!))

    1. Thank you Stacy.
And definitely at least we'd hang out and do stuff to beat the blues eh.
But good never live close enough, isn't that crazy?

I have a friend here and she lives so far away and also busy with kids and all.
      Eh life

This song definitely reminds me to trust God with everything and it will work out.

  3. I've decided to bloom where I am this year, and quit bellyaching about 'having to live in Michigan instead of Florida.' I feel like I'm missing out on things because my attitude about where I lives stinks, and I don't wanna do that anymore. ;) Our tree is still up too. The in-laws came over for Christmas yesterday. I'll take it all down and pack it up tomorrow. :)

    1. I understand Rosey...maybe I should take that route in regards to homeschooling.

I've not heard great things about Michigan until you began sharing about it on your website.

      That's an interesting Christmas adventure.

Hope it was a good hang out.

I'll ...I'm half way done with taking mine down.

      Here's to new attitudes right!

  4. I know what you mean...
I just posted my first post since Christmas last night... and the tree was just recently taken down. (The decorations took a few days longer and it isn't because we have so many, its because I had no drive to do so...) I am declaring this year as a great one and will do whatever I have to do to make sure it happens.
I read in an online devotional somewhere that I need to quit thinking about the negative (as I will constantly be drawn to it) and instead focus on the positive... It has been hard at times, but I have been trying and I actually feel better about things than I have lately. Here is to a GREAT NEW YEAR for you as well :)

    1. That's it my girl, I have no drive to do it at all. I have to keep pushing myself into things.

It will definitely make a for an adventurous year!

I love that about the thoughts.. I try to do this a lot.

      Thank you for sharing!

  5. We have taken our tree down. We take it down on New Years Day every year. I have been pretty tired lately. I don't know if it is due to the cold weather or the fact that I am still healing from bruising my tailbone so I haven't been working out lately. Hopefully things will turn around and get better soon. Have a terrific day!

    1. It's the 15th...maybe I'll get a move on to get it down and boxed away.
      I've been uber exhausted.

Ouch on the tailbone, I hope you get well sooner Cascia!
      And thank you!
