If You Have Cake - You Should Eat It - WW

I've found this new cake that I baked. The kids loved it! They wanted it over and over again. But it's a start from scratch kinda cake that takes time.

When my mother visited over Christmas, I couldn't wait to bake it for her. I did. She LOVED it!

She wants me to make it for her birthday :) I'm so excited about that.

Anyway, I've made it about five times since Christmas.

However the last one...was mostly ate by me....in secret.

I ate a slice every day while the kids were at home. I ate a slice after my lunch. It was such a sweet, secret little treat.

The kids would come home and say: "I can't wait to have pumpkin cake tonight!"

And I'd try not to bust out laughing.

Sometimes they'd get another dessert or not. But my selfishness kept me from unveiling the pumpkin spiced cake. After all, it was dwindling....

At the very final slice, I decided to leave it for my son. He seems to love it most.

I felt bad.

Then they'd say to each other: "Ooh tonight we are having pumpkin cake!" And they'd be so excited and I'd push food in my mouth so that I didn't dissolve into giggles.
I have no idea why I felt the urge to laugh.

Well, they never got any after that first slice.

I ate it all!

I'm not sure I feel bad or not. I"ll just bake them another one.

It's the cake of the year in this house :)

started out like this?

Dwindled to this?

And then it was just the plate and pan in the fridge and they still thought cake was under it.

*Giggle*

I"m so not a bad mom.

I don't buy cake in the store, so when I bake, it's most yums!

I can't wait to bake another one.....and this time, I'll share.

I promise.

Do you bake your own cake? Or prefer to purchase from  a bakery or store?

  4. Wow that looked really good sweetie! I bake my own always. Sometimes thought I will buy coffee cake at the store. I'm home now from getting my procedure done, and having some breakfast and then going to take a nap. Everything is numb for now so we'll see how I'm feeling later. :) Hugs and thanks for stopping by!

  13. I am Caribbean girl myself (Montego Bay Jamaica), and I really am not big on baking. In fact, as a vegan trying to eat mostly raw, I don't eat cake. My kids still do, so they buy ready-made
