I love to play music. It helps my heart keep pace and starve depression. I've been too depressed lately. And I've been sick.
I hate been sick. It's like I can't shake it. I've begun to think that it might be spiritual, emotional, phsiological etc. I need a change in my life or I'm going to not make it very well. Until then I keep waking up and pumping my fist at life.
Now some of the different genres of Caribbean music. Enjoy!
A nice steel drum run with a popular song.
A dancey one from Byron.
A sad one from Jimmy
Many rivers to cross
But I can't seem to find my way over
Wandering I am lost as I travel along
The white cliffs of Dover
Many rivers to cross and it's only my will
That keeps me alive
I've been licked, washed up for years and
I merely survive because of my pride.
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's such a drag to be on your own
My woman left and she didn't say why
Well I guess I have to try.
Many rivers to cross but just where to begin
I'm playing for time
There'll be times I find myself thinking
Of committing some dreadful crime.
I've got many rivers to cross
But I can't seem to find my way over
Wandering I am lost as I travel along
The white cliffs of Dover
Many rivers to cross and it's only my will
That keeps me alive
I've been licked, washed up for years and,
I merely survive because of my pride.
Aloha

Loved your selections! I am sorry to hear you haven't been able to shake your depression. Music helps in so, so many ways, so I'm glad you've been able to find at least some solace in the music you love! Don't know if I'd listen to too much sad stuff, though.....seems like life can get us down enough without it!

DeleteThis illness that everyone has had seems to linger for weeks and sometimes comes back for others. As for the depression, I agree with Kim, music does help at least some as long as it is upbeat. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteGreat selections this week and theme too. It was fun.
I don't want to do another round of antibiotics.
DeleteI wish it would be done already. I've tried everything to be healthy. Sigh.
Definitely no sad music around here :) I can't add crying on top of all that is going on :)
