Try Put Your Makeup On - Get Some Sun - Turn The #Music Up

Today was sunny! YES! YES! YES! I could put on a bathing suit and just lay out in it! It felt great! I need the sun! It's been wet , rainy and cold!  Plus I need to shake this cold or whatever it is. I'm hoping it's not lingering sinus infection because all the antibiotics are finished!
Whatever is happening. I refuse to be darkened into depression. I'm fighting it with all my might!

Today culminated the crazy week of preparation for my daughter to get her ballet photos done. Took me a week to get her hair ready! Had to take out the braids, wash and flat ironed her hair. All this while she is going to school all day. The bun works better when it's flat ironed. So we basically only do that twice a year. She loves it like that, so I might consider more often to please her.

Then it was makeup time and gosh I am not good at doing make up. I was sweating like a pig! And good makers of lush, they asked to put a wing on her eye! WHAT!!! Just taser me now!

I tried.

We weren't late to the studio. Photos were done and what a weight lifted!

What do y'all think? That's my baby girl relaxing (looks intense) after the photoshoot.

She doesn't like the makeup either. But she allows me. We work together. But the minute she gets home, she scrubs it off!!! Hahaha.

Even her bun had me sweating!

I put lipstick on with her, so she wouldn't feel alone in it :)  She tends to hang her lips off like they don't belong to her, when I have to put the lipstick on her. And gosh this time, they wanted RED!

And for just today I'm sitting on my hind without too much stress. Which will begin tomorrow Sunday and run straight into Monday! Oh well. I'll be dancing!

Put your make up on
Get your nails done
Curl your hair
Run the extra mile
Keep it slim
So they like you. Do they like you?

Get your sexy on
Don't be shy, girl
Take it off
This is what you want, to belong
So they like you. Do you like you?

You don't have to try so hard
You don't have to give it all away
You just have to get up, get up, get up, get up
You don't have to change a single thing

You don't have to try, try, try, try-i-i

Ooooo, oooooo, oooooo...

Get your shopping on,
At the mall,
Max your credit cards
You don't have to choose,
Buy it all
So they like you. Do they like you?

Wait a second,
Why should you care, what they think of you
When you're all alone, by yourself
Do you like you? Do you like you?

You don't have to try so hard
You don't have to give it all away
You just have to get up, get up, get up, get up
You don't have to change a single thing

You don't have to try so hard
You don't have to bend until you break
You just have to get up, get up, get up, get up
You don't have to change a single thing

Take your make up off
Let your hair down
Take a breath
Look into the mirror, at yourself
Don't you like you?
Cause I like you

  1. For someone just winging it (haha, I couldn't resist) you did a great job!! Her eye makeup looks like you do it all of the time, you've got the wing thing down!!! You go girl. :) And hurrah for sun...we're getting into the 40s this week and I'm already dancing a happy dance!

    1. Rosey, you totally had me laughing! Good one :)
I'm glad you didn't see the right eye! hahaha. I just couldn't get the wing right. Talk about heart palpitations!

But thank you. I'm looking close at it and it does look rad! haha I used a young people's word :D

Ooh it promises to be warm this week....but rainy. Whatever I'll take warm.
Yay on the 40s for you!
      Let's dance!

  2. She looks terrific in that photo well done with the make up ;-)

Nice song it's new to me :-)

    1. :) Thank you Steve.
I think I'll be proud of myself...not conceited though. :)

  3. Your little sweetheart looks lovely, but I don't get why they want someone this young in make up. Little girls are the most beautiful naturally. I don't get it! Oh well, you did a fabulous job with her make up and hair. In a few years tings will change fast and she won't be so quick to scrub the face paint away. lol We had gorgeous spring-like weather over the weekend. It was in the low 60s. Whoo-hoo! This week promises to be equally warm, but it's gonna be a wet one. :( That's ok. I can take it after the cold. Have a tunetastic week, Callie!

    1. CATHY AMEN! That's what I think! That's what I believe. They don't need make up! It's too much. I get when they are a teen and doing a performance on stage with cameras, but these little ones are just so cute all the way around without make up!!!

I wonder how she'll be about the make up when she is older. Maybe she wont like it so much at all, like her mama :)
      Who knows.

Or maybe she'll teach old me a thing or two. As long as it's kept neutral and not hide her own beauty.

Ooh yea, it's going to be warm 70s but very rainy this week too. I will take warm any way I can get it.

      Happy week Cathy!

  4. I love the song you posted today. I have heard it before but it is so poignant! Have a great sunny week!

  5. New song for me and thanks for sharing it.

    1. You are welcome Patrick :)
      Thanks for visiting :)

  6. Girl, what's wrong with you? She's beautiful and she looks like a perfect mini me! You did a great job! Are you sure you haven't done this professionally? If not, you should! You did a great job. I've heard this song before and I love it. In fact, I'm going to Post this on my granddaughter's facebook. I'm sure she'll love it and get the message. She's so inward. Hope it helps. HUGS YOU ROCK!

    1. Thank you Marie. I tried my very bestest for her.

And yes definitely share. I hope it helps inspire your granddaughter.

  7. Seriously? You don't do makeup much? Looks like a professional job to me! :) She's beautiful - just like her mama! :) And I LOVE Colbie Caillat and LOVE that song! :)
