Universal Summer Drink With Luigi Bormioli - #GlassForEveryOccasion - #LBandMe

I'm still trying to find the wine that agrees with me. I've tasted a few and so far, rum and baileys are the only ones that seem to tickle my palate. However, I do love sparkling drinks and the regular water and fruit juices in beautiful and strong glasses!

With young children at home, I usually purchase very strong drinking glasses or cups, that would not shatter easily.  I do not have to tell you how easily children handle things without the awareness of a possible mishap, especially fragile things!

It is so nice to have beautiful glassware on the table when I set the table for dinner or a special occasion.

We live in Cajun country and my mother is visiting with us for a little while. I do make healthy meals here at home and one of the Cajun favorite is Red Beans and Rice.
I wanted to introduce her palate to this specific taste, so I decided to make both introduction of Luigi Bormioli glassware and our Cajun dish in one night!

Everyone oohed and aahed over the Luigi Bormioli glassware! I was very cautious with the usage by the children, especially with their excitement on full tilt! My children are used to the recipe and it's one of their favorites. My mother came on board at first bite :)

The glasses are so beautiful and as we say, we love to hear them sing as we toast :)
The adults get to handle the Bach flute and the kids can carefully use the Bach DOF.

The children asked for their favorite juice in their glassware and the adults kept calm until dessert time :)

As I've learned from a friend of mine, you can always tip something into your orange juice :)

My mother is a very good cook, so it was good to be able to make her do the food moan with the tasting of this new recipe for her.

I really love the feel and elegance of the glassware. It's not too heavy or light and just feels good between the lips.

One of my very favorite drink is one I learned to make in my country. It's a natural, healthy, universal drink that works for any season. My children loves this drink best! I think I must invest in a juicer to make it as often as they desire.
Here is my recipe, use and mix it up as desired. I love that I"m drinking something healthy and good for my body.

Universal Summer Drink - Limeade printable recipe

With the hot and humid LA heat upon us, it’s all about cool drinks and smoothies. I love having a jug of limeade (lemonade in other countries, but we use limes instead of lemons) chilled and ready to drink. Now that I’m in the United States, I use both lemon and limes together and separately :)

Tip 1: If your limes are hard, roll them on the counter for awhile until they are much more softened. This way you get more juice, and it’s easier on the hands to do the squeezing, if you are not using a juicer.

Tip 2: slice a lime or lemon and put it on the edge of the jug with the lemonade for a beautiful presentation.

Tip 3: You can use this recipe for cocktails, just add your rum or whatever alcohol to the mix and serve over ice.

Ingredients
7 cups cold Water - Or enough in your 12 qt container for the amount of people present.
7 juicy Limes - Use more depending on the ‘tang’ you prefer
2 Lemons
3 cups Brown Sugar or you can use white sugar if you want a nice clear limeade. Or just sweeten to your desired taste as I do
1 Tbsp or so of Molasses - Sometimes I used molasses and MOST times I don’t.

Directions:

1 Using a strainer, squeeze enough limes and your  lemons to make a cup of juice
2. Add squeezed juice, brown sugar, and molasses to the water and stir until all the sugar has dissolved. Taste to ensure goodness.
We prefer a bit more tang, so sometimes I’ll use even more limes.
3. Refrigerate or serve immediately over crushed or cubed ice.

Makes 8 servings

I love these recipes. And I especially love feeling like I"m having my special moment while using these Luigi Bormioli glasses.

If you are just starting a business, want to upgrade your kitchenware, or give a lovely gift. Do consider the beautiful, elegant Luigi Bormioli glassware. They do have many design choices that will fit any purpose.

The company was founded in 1946 by Mr. Luigi Bormioli, who led it to international prominence. The Bormioli family continues his mission: a commitment to great design, traditional Italian craftsmanship and new-age glassmaking technology to create beautiful glassware of the highest quality. Luigi Bormioli rivals fine crystal in appearance and elegance, but is lead-free, affordably priced and widely available.

I'll Stand By You Doing Make Up On #Music Mondays

I suppose I should watch this sadness right? , but I assure you, I'm not always sad. It's just something that comes and goes.

I'm probably just exhausted or it could be nutritional needs.

Thanks for joining us for Monday's music.

And then the make up was done. She hated her lips most of all. Of course she hates the whole make up. But she almost refused to use her lips while talking, it was hilarious!

However that was what they required in the rules.

When she got home, she immediately began scrubbing it off!  But I figure maybe one day she'll be the one teaching me about make up.

And we only have to do this twice a year, so no biggie for now.

Welcome to today's music.  I hope Monday find you with a smile and music to begin your week with light steps.
I'm always coming to visit everyone on the linky so don't worry if I'm a bit late!

Teaching A Child To Fish

I had to learn quite a few things on my own as a child because I didn't have parents. I'm still teaching myself many things because I"m not really the social butterfly most people are.

This is a beautiful video reminding us how important it is to let our children learn on their own, to be curious, to practice.

Teach them and let them do and learn.

Hope you enjoy this! Watch the video below!

Watch: A touching video of why it's important to let your children learn by doing things themselves, and not just being taught

I Am Needing That Lighthouse Brother - #Music For The Soul

I was just reading about 25 wisdom to boost your joy. I do need a boost, lots of boost. I have to keep trusting God for my emotions and outlook to turn around. I always hang on to hope.

Now it's been so busy and I've been so out of sorts and also battling the flu, but I"m glad to be alive.

Hope y'all are doing great.

Welcome to another Musical Monday! This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

I'm a make up noob. But I get to do my daughter's makeup for her ballet group photos. I did get the wing that they asked for and that bright red lipstick. She on the other hand hates all make up. I think she'll grow up and do my makeup!!! Maybe I should learn more about getting my face done up too eh. After all, I am getting old.

Now I need a brother to be my lighthouse.

Ramblers in the wilderness
Yeah we can't find what we need
We get a little restless from the searching
Get a little worn down in between
Like a bull chasing a matador is man left to his own schemes
But everybody needs someone beside em
Shining like a light from the sea

Brother let me be your shelter
Never leave you all alone
I can be the one to call when you're low
Brother let me be your fortress when the night winds are driving on
Be the one to light the way
Bring you home

Face down in the desert now
There's a cage locked around my heart
I found a way to drop the key where my failures were, now my hands can't reach that far
I ain't made for a rivalry and I could never take the world alone
I know that in my weakness I am stronger, but it's your love that brings me home

Welcome to today's music.  I hope Monday find you with a smile and music to begin your week with light steps.

Livin' La Vida Loca, Big Island Style

If you're preparing to travel to an island paradise, whether in the South of Europe, the Caribbean, or the South Pacific, you'll need to make a few preparations beforehand so as not to get tripped up in the heat of the moment. For example, if you're traveling to Hawaii, you may not need a passport, but you'll certainly want to carry along a full supply of traveler's checks to tide you over during your stay. In case you haven't heard, the ATM fees can prove quite a daunting challenge to an economical traveler.

Let's visit Hawaii

Traveling Light and Tight

Armed with your passport, traveler's checks, and airline ticket, off you go into the wild blue yonder. It's an excellent idea to travel light, taking with you only what you can fit into a carry-on bag and (maybe) one extra suitcase. If you're traveling on business, it's an excellent idea to take only what will fit into your briefcase. Baggage fees have increased exponentially in the past few years, so it's a wise move to arrange your travel ensemble accordingly.

Staying Hip to Your Surroundings

If you're traveling to the island for a business consultation or conference, you'll probably spend most of your time knee deep in preparation for the big event. But, of course, there may still be plenty of opportunity to enjoy a bit of rest and relaxation during the rest of the night. It's all right to spend plenty of time at the hotel, or at the local zoo and other tourist attractions. After all, that's what they are there for.

But you'll also want to take along a handy travel guide that will enlighten you as to some of the finest attractions that show off the "real" face of the location. You'll want to stop in for a drink at a local tavern, or enjoy some fine regional cuisine at a local bistro, in order to get to know the lay of the land.

Traveling First Class on a Budget

If you're really searching for the ultimate secret of how to travel first class on a modest budget, you may need a little help to get you fully up to speed. And when it comes to educating travelers, as well as saving them a whole heaping bundle of time, energy, and cash, there's nothing quite like Hipmunk's handy series of travel guides.

If you plan on jetting out to Hawaii, Hipmunk's Honolulu travel guide is a top notch companion for your journey. Not only will you get the low down on all of the best tourist oriented destinations, you'll also get the straight skinny on plenty of fabulous sites that lie just off the beaten path. If you really want to get a taste of the "real" location, Hipmunk's series of travel guides is an excellent starter kit.
