Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self. Cyril Connolly (1903 - 1974)

Joy - The Energy Of A Fruitful Life

I shouldn't be up this late into the morning, but I just wanted to share this with y'all.

We started a new series in church this month called A fruitful Life.

It's very interesting and ad usual, our pastor is totally hilarious to keep us on our toes!

"To Miss out on joy is to miss out on the reason for your existence," - - Lewis Smedes

Let's get acquainted with the Holy Spirit   - Gal: 5:16-26

We cannot live the Christian life without the Holy Spirit.

> The Holy Spirit is a person, not a thing.
You have a relationship with a person who is there helping with our transformation from the old to new.

> The Holy Spirit is the  permanent present of God inside me  -Gal: 4:6

*The Holy Spirit representing God, is in our hearts so we can all have a relationship with God.

> The Holy Spirit's primary purpose is to make God look good., not me.

*The Holy Spirit is not in you to make you happy but to shine a light to God.

> The Holy Spirit is my personal trainer for a fruitful life.

*Ask the Holy Spirit to help you with the fruits of the spirit, or everything you need help with! He is your guide.

Joy is the outflow of a relationship with the happiest being in the universe.  Gal: 5:24-25

* God is the happiest being in the universe. God is all about joy! Jesus came and showed the character of the father. Everywhere Jesus went there was food, eating, praying and a party!

Setting your sails for joy
> Change your picture of God

*Our kneejerk reactions is to think that God is disappointed and sad about you.

How do you really see God?

> Cultivate gratitude.

*The joy of the Lord is my strength. Journal about things you are grateful for and you'll find something to be joyful about.

> Limit the sources of hopelessness in my life

*The world (media) is designed to take your joy away and replace it with constant fear.

> Find a joy mentor.

*Let go of the unjoy in your life, people, things, whatever. Let it go and go towards sources of joy!

Oh and read Revelations, it all turns out great in the end! Joyful!

What's your biggest source of joy?
