If I Told You My Story - Monday's #Music For The Soul

Friday after dropping my daughter off for her dance class, I decided to drive home, until it was time to pick her up.

I was listening to music along the way and when I reached home, I just sat in the driveway. There was a feeling that came back as when I was single and feeling bereft.

I felt completely alone, friendless, familyless....odd.

Then I realize I have no fun at all.  I do enjoy my own company - says the introvert, but I simply don't go out and hang out with others and have fun! When I go out, it's always to an event and that's usually and event for my kids, church, school etc.

I need to go out, eat cake, get drunk and dance.

Does that sound bad? weird?  But that's what I felt in that hour of sitting there reading. It was a beautiful evening, but my spirit was trying to peak around a corner for something more.

I hope I find that something more.

Welcome y'all to Monday. Right now, it's Sunday :)

Music theme: FREEBIE

If I told you my story
You would hear hope that wouldn't let go
If I told you my story
You would hear love that never gave up
If I told you my story
You would hear life but it wasn't mine

If I should speak then let it be

Of the grace that is greater than all my sin
Of when justice was served and where mercy wins
Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in
To tell you my story is to tell of Him

If I told you my story
You would hear victory over the enemy
If told you my story
You would hear freedom that was won for me
If I told you my story
You would hear life overcome the grave

If I should speak then let it be

This is my story this is my song praising my Savior all the day long

  1. You shouldn't feel bad. You just need some "me time" and that is totally normal.

  4. Callie, don't you have any friends down there to go out & have a girls night out? Well, if not you're right it's time to like you and if that's the case get a small glass of wine and sit down with a good book if that's what you like to do and enjoy!!! Tracy Chapman got a make-over huh? She always has that special something, right? WELL THANKS FOR THE DANCE GIRLY GIRL! HUGS!

  5. Callie, I can relate to that "alone" sense. When DH worked out of town and the kids were small I felt like that all too often. Being a SAHM, a woman gives up completely of herself for the precious ones in her life, so every now and then it's good for moms to escape her normal routine to find pleasure in doing something that makes her feel special for a moment. I hope you can find what you need in your life to make you feel less lonely and more satisfied. Thanks for sharing a dance with me today!

  6. I get that at times but just temporarily. Maybe lack of sleep or something. You will be okay.
