I'm back!
We drove from LA to Montana for the burial of our father. My husband's father to be exact. I have no idea where my father is.
It was a drive that was long and longer and exhausting.
It was a beautiful drive and I wished I lived in some of those country areas.
I loved the snow and beautiful mountains and laid back way of life.
It's amazing how it was to see my husband show me childhood places where he grew up, and as he tells the stories, I hope they help to salve his heart.
I'm praying he'll take time to grieve. I am not sure many men understand the importance of allowing their grief.
But we have hope to see him again and that his soul is well with Jesus Christ.

DeleteIt was too expensive to fly with our family. Driving was in the budget....even though so very long.
Collette darling, I"m sorry to hear of your father-in-law's passing. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I agree, it's important for men to grieve. One good way for your husband to cope with his loss is to talk often about his dad. Get him to share memories to celebrate the man that he loved, the man he called Dad. Speaking from personal experience this kind of therapy is the best. Thanks for the beautiful music. God bless!
ReplyDeletePS: Your husband grew up in a beautiful place. I would love to visit the western part of the country. That's a gorgeous photo you shared.

ReplyDeleteI am very sorry for your loss. May is a sad month for me since I lost both of my parents within 2 years of each other. But we always have to remember that they are not in pain anymore. Much sympathy to you and your family.
