Hand To Your Heart - #Music For Celebration - #4thOfJuly

I guess in some places, they celebrate July 4th on the 3rd. We have a place here in Lafayette, where this is what they do every year.

Last night the kids and I went. It was way more people this year, than last year. We almost turned around and went home.

But I figured this is one of the best places in town to see fireworks and if they are going to be doing it on the 3rd, then what's the big deal eh.
Perhaps they have many reasons.

They also had pony rides, face painting, cajun music and fun shows for the whole family.

And I tell you, the fireworks was grand. And I am glad the kids and I got to go out and enjoy it.

Today is a holiday. Independence day.  Happy Independence to y'all. Hope it's a great day with your family.

And I was hoping to share the anthem each morning in our home, but we are always planning right? Just so much to do always.

Our Spotlight Dancer for this week is “CuriousasaCathy” & the theme she has chosen is songs with America in the title or patriotic tunes!  WOO HOO Let’s ROCK!  Applause!

  1. Wonderful choice, but I have to bow out for today I just got word my Aunt Mitzi has passed away and my heart is broken.

    1. Oh Dolly I"m so sorry.
      My condolences to you. *HUGS*

  2. You very rarely hear all four verses of "The Star-Spangled Banner." It's quite a beautiful anthem, almost a hymn. Great choice!

  3. Colette, The Star Spangled Banner is a perfect choice. You just can't get any more patriotic than with this song. Thanks for filling my heart with warm smiles! ;)

  4. I wish those that are they would do more of the celebrations the night before the 4th, or give everyone working the 5th off to 'recover' from the late night fun the night before. When I lived in PA each township had their fireworks celebrations on different nights leading up to the 4th - if you were so inclined, you could go watch them several nights in a row! :) LOVE your song choice! Perfect! Hope you had a great week - sorry for the late dance, the week totally got away from me! :)

    1. I totally understand and agree.
I'm always wondering how many recover from the late partying the night before.
