This is a wonderful Sunday. I feel good. I'm still helping my kids to enjoy and have fun and it seems I"m just on the sidelines, but I am indeed feeling blessed.
We had worship and then a swim party. They've been so very excited about the swim party!
So glad it wasn't rained out.
How was your weekend y'all?
Welcome to tomorrow :D haha.
"Behind The Wall"
Last night I heard the screaming
Loud voices behind the wall
Another sleepless night for me
It won't do no good to call
The police always come late
If they come at all
And when they arrive
They say, "they can't interfere
With domestic affairs,
Between a man and his wife."
And as they walk out the door
The tears well up in her eyes
Last night I heard the screaming
Then a silence that chilled my soul
I prayed that I was dreaming
When I saw the ambulance in the road
And the policeman said,
"I'm here to keep the peace."
Will the crowd disperse
I think we all could use some sleep"
Aloha

I love Tracy Chapman. Great tune
ReplyDeleteThank you Patrick!
DeleteColette, I like the quote about a man's love and it's so true. I think DH must be Superman. :) We spent a quiet weekend at home, except for Friday we did escape to the mountains for the day and that was very nice. Now, it's time to get back to the weekly stuff. DH is still out of work, so please remember us in your prayers. Have a dancetastic week, my friend!
ReplyDeletePS: One more thing, you made my Top July Commenters list. Congratulations and thanks for being a good friend! ;)

DeleteHi, Colette!
ReplyDeleteIt was very sweet of you to visit me at SDMM. I appreciate it! This brief song by Tracy Chapman moved me. It tells the truth about the way some men, far too many men, treat their women, and the reluctance of authorities to intervene in domestic disputes. We need to remember that sometimes the woman is the abuser. Either way it is a disgrace to devalue, abuse or neglect another person (or animal). Thank you for sharing this important song, Colette. Have a safe and happy weekend!
Thank you for visiting!!!
DeleteAnd sharing your thoughts. It's all too true.
Aloha :)
I like Tracy CHapman. Glad you're feeling good. I like to be on the sidelines sometimes too, and hurrah for not getting rained out!
ReplyDeleteI wonder where she is now.
DeleteThanks Rosey.
Our weekend was super busy. I took my youngest school clothes shopping, my husband put up our new mailbox, I weeded the garden, we went to mass this morning, and took a nice family walk. Glad to hear your kids had a fun weekend too!
ReplyDeleteVery nice.
ReplyDeleteI am out and about during the weekend. I seem to go to work and rest.
