#Music For The Soccer Mom's Soul - 4Ms

Soccer Mom:
So I volunteered to coach my daughter's soccer team. It was coming up on week two and we had already had to cancel their first game because there was no coach, so I decided to coach. Another parent took the reigns and wanted to be head coach.
So now, we are going about working together and getting it done.

Saturday, we played our first game - loss.
Today, Sunday we played our second game - loss. But they scored today and was so awesomely better than yesterday! My daughter made the first team score to tie the game. Oh it was a celebration!
She is so very proud of herself!
As soon as we get some practices in and see the strengths of each player, then we'll be more organized.

I'm looking forward to them having much fun and learning how to be a team. It's great that the parents are all in too!

At first, I didn't want to, I thought, surely, someone will jump in, but it didn't happen. And I decided to pray about it. So that day when it happened, it was just natural.
We now have a parent as head coach and I just fill in as assistant. I don't mind. I just want what's best for our team and he seems great at getting it done.

I don't think my husband was amused that I took on yet another thing to do. But hey, I do not like to be bored. I am blessed to be part of living.

Today, was worship in the morning. Soccer in the afternoon and choir practice just an hour ago.  Sundays were supposed to be rest day, but it's super busy. I tried to grab Saturday as our rest day, but soccer is not making that work out at all.

Oh well, seasons change.

Today hasn't been so great, but glad for the coaching distraction. Had a little outright with the husband and it seems my heart has been crying all day. I hate confrontations of any sort, but I think at this point I am just overwhelmed and not feeling particularly successful at our relationship. Or perhaps, it's the thing that happens each Sunday that wants families to be at odds with each other as we go into the house of worship.
Life happens. I'll pray for the best.

It's later in the evening and right now, the kids are beside me just hanging out and my cat laying on my feet. I will try to feel blessed.

The husband might be taking us out to dinner, so let's get the music hopping.

  4. Hurrah to you for stepping up! The season will go fast. And I DO remember that Sunday 'at odds' thing. We used to have that all of the time, years ago. Thankfully it doesn't happen now (knock on wood).

  5. Colette, go team! I don't think I could rise such an occasion as you and hopefully this will be an undertaking that you'll enjoy instead of dreading that you did it. Thanks for sharing the new-to-me Bryan Adams song. The gal in the video has beautiful eyes. Have a tunetastic week! :)
