I'll See You On A Mother's Day Adventure

I hope y'all had a good Mother's Day!

I had to work at our church as a fill in for someone else, so I didn't get to sit and listen to our pastor as I'd like, but I don't mind because when I need a fill-in, there's always someone to help me out.

After church, my husband wanted to go do his own thing, and because I had no vehicle, I asked him to drop the kids and I in a parking lot so we could walk around the stores and just window shop. It was better than just being cooped up at home, which I usually am all week!
I just told him to pick us up somewhere in the avenue or my last stop would be at subway.

Our first stop was Costco. My MIL had signed me up for a membership in January or December and it was my first time being able to go there. I had no intent to shop anyway, just a place to walk around.
Oh the kids and I enjoyed the walk around and so much to see and then there were the samples, which I never accepted samples before. I usually just allow the kids to do so if they asked.
But this time I did enjoy the samples and it was good and in the end, the kids and I were full and I didn't have to worry about what to feed them!

We were in there for about three hours!!! Good exercise and the fun of walking and talking and laughing with my little ones was such a delight that you don't even realize the time passing!

When husband called that he was coming by on his way home. I grabbed some water and bath tissue and on my way out the door, a gentleman asked if I was a mother. I said yes.
He then gave me a long-stemmed rose. It was lovely. I supposed it seems we were just three siblings or something...

We weren't prepared to end our day, so after my husband drove home, he said we could take his truck and off we went again to peruse the other stores that we hadn't gotten to while we were out in our adventure.
We had a good day. We had a full day and despite what is missing, I realize that my children are downright amazing!

We ended the day with subway and ice cream. Then we came home around 8pm.

I was able to talk with my mom after the kids went to bed until she fell asleep and then I couldn't sleep and simply cried for a while. Sometimes all you can do is cry and pray.

I will try to keep going.

Music helps many a soul, so let's dance y'all. Or just sit back and listen :)

  1. sounds like you had a pretty nice Mother's Day. I spent the day at home. Didn't feel like socializing too much. Later in the evening a good friend of mine stopped by and we shared a meal. good to see you posting again.

  3. Colette,

I miss the days when the kids were home all the time. They grow up so fast. I'm glad you got to enjoy Mother's Day with your two darlings. That hubby of yours should've enjoyed it with the family. I will pray for God to place a deep, deep desire in his heart to be surrounded by you and the children. I hope he sees the importance of this before it's too late because kids grow up so darn fast! Thanks for sharing the dance floor with me, dear friend.

  4. That's great that you got to spend the day with your kids. They grow up so fast, we have to cherish the time we have with them now.
Costco has a lot of good stuff, but it's too crowded where we live. We love the samples, too! My kids were amazed when we first went there.
    Have a beautiful day!

  5. I'll just echo all the others and say that children grow up way to9 fast. My son is (gulp) almost 30..turning to the music, the only song I've heard by Coolio before now is Gangsta's Paradise - I enjoyed this rap. Have a wonderful week, Colette.

  6. Costco sure is the perfect place to while away the time, isn't it? I suppose I should renew my membership one of these days, but now I live an hour from the closest one - I might have to wait until they build one closer (if the rumor mill is to be believed...heh!!)

GREAT song choice, my friend! And know that I'm keeping you in my constant thoughts and prayers. ((HUGZ!!))
