The Churning of Life

I apologize for being away so long. I've been overwhelmed with too much and just trying to get through.

Thanks y'all for keeping me in thoughts and prayers.

My mom has been with me visiting since May.

And there's a possibility of me getting my eye surgery in August, which she'll be here for.

Back to school is rushing up on me and it's just too soon. Each year it's earlier and earlier. It's as if they do not want our kids to even have Summer!

And we are still in the red and so any thought of shopping makes me want to vomit. But God provides and I try to be content. Not always easy.

Bear with me y'all as I come and go.

  1. Hello to you and your whole family and to your beautiful Mama... you too still look like sistas girlfriend & I'm sure your babies love having her there too! Ahhhhhhhh Michael Bolton.. that man has a pair of lungs on him that just won't quit. He always comes to the Arcada Theater and performs & it's right by my house. I haven't seen his show yet, but I really want too! I know when you're back on your feet you'll be back with us too! BIG HUGS! LUV YA!!!! SMOOCH! SWAK

  2. Colette,

I'm happy that you might be having eye surgery next month. I know how wonderful it'll be for you to get your sight back again. You're in our prayers, dearie.

I totally here about schools returning earlier and earlier every year. I can't even think about such things until after Labor Day. I know when I home schooled our three, I didn't start the new year often until after Labor Day. It's just too crazy to deprive kids of their summer, not to mention it's still so hot.

Oh, I can certainly relate to your quote and even though I allow myself time thrash around in my own woes, it does help me get through my own difficult moments knowing that there are others who are having it worse than me, you know? It's in that instant that I can move forward, lifting myself out of self-pity to see God's goodness in my life. Thanks for your prayers regarding DH's surgery yesterday. All went well and we're one more step closer to seeing the end of this mess. :)

  3. Hi Collette, so many changes in your life. I wish you the best with the surgery. Your mom will be a big help during this time. Speaking of mamas, I am with mine right now. She is different in body and soul but still so great to see her. Take care.

  4. Hi Colette,
So nice to see you here again! I know what you mean about the school starting earlier and earlier every year. I just don't get it. Up north (New York) we didn't go back to school until after Labor Day ---the actual indicator of the summer coming to an end. I don't know why these southern states have these kids going back in the heat of the summer. How miserable to sit in those closed classrooms when they could be ---AND SHOULD BE--- out swimming in the pool!

Will keep you in my prayers for your eye surgery. I'm out of the loop on what's going on with your sight so I don't know what that's all about but I sure do hope all goes well for you.

That was a great and inspirational song. Michael Bolton really does have a great voice. Every time I hear Michael Bolton, I think of a past love(r) who told me he thought of me every time he heard Michael Bolton and he would play a certain album of his when he was missing me. Gag! So I that kinda ruined me enjoying much Michael Bolton these last several years... haha

Anyway, Keep the faith! And enjoy every minute that you spend with your Mom!
Hope to see you popping over to my place when you can.
    Have a good week,

    Michele at Angels Bark

  5. One of my friends is having eye surgery on July 30. I will keep both of you in my thoughts. I also don't understand why many states sart school in mid-August. Here in New York, at least, we don't start until right after Labor Day.

  6. 5 years? Woohoo!! Glad to hear your mom is there and will be with you during your surgery perhaps too!! Back to School did come fast. I wish we had another month. Always have you in my heart and prayers.

  7. I'm so glad your mom is there with you now, and will be with you when you have your eye surgery. I bet you'll be happy to be able to see clearly again, won't you? I'll definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I agree - the school year start seems to be earlier every year! I was surprised when the local elementary school here started before Labor Day but still ended mid-June. Luckily I saw this next school year calendar, and instead of starting the 3rd week of August, they're back to starting the day after Labor Day. :) I don't miss the early start we had in PA, that's for sure! I've always considered Labor Day weekend the 'finale' of the summer months before school started. :) If you need some help with school supplies, I always buy extra when they're on sale, I'm happy to send what I have out to you to ease some of your stress on your budget - just send me a message with your address. ;)

Love Michael Bolton! What a great song choice, my friend! Have a great week - and hang in there! ((HUGZ!!))

  8. Colette,

    Just stopping by to let you know you're in my thoughts and prayers. Marie mentioned Monday that you had your eye surgery. I hope things are progressing nicely. I know the struggles you've dealt with all too well with DH's own eye issues but hopefully, you and he both will have clearer vision than ever soon! Blessings to you, dearie! {{hugs}}

  9. I saw on FB that you had surgery. Sending over hugs and hugs and hugs!
