Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self. Cyril Connolly (1903 - 1974)

Oh Didn't I Try My Precious Child

I can't possibly convey the busy of my weeks. But I do not regret them. I am glad that I have work because it keeps me from being depressed and idle. I just need to balance well.

This Sunday was a delight. My daughter and I went to the parade of homes. She loves looking at houses on the market and I rarely have the time to go to open houses because of work, so today was just right for us to hang out together and enjoy all the new digs around town.

Oh, we walked! And it was good exercise and she was the first to complain that 'HER LEGS HURT!!!"
And I enjoyed this because I'm the oldie and should have been the one complaining and she is just twelve :D

The homes are quite lovely indeed and I wonder why many houses do not have the same storage and space as the newer ones. The gadgets I understand, not being part of the older homes, but not space and design.

I could do this again. And the best part for my introvert: It was a self-guided tour! But still, people tried to talk to me and give me directions and asked questions. No! Let's just say hello and let me tour. I was impressed to come even more because it said: 'self-guided tour.'

Of course, she wanted to purchase many of the homes. Me too dahlin. Me too. But some were just too enormous for our little family.

Have you ever done a parade of homes in your city?

I heard this song a bit ago on the radio and who can forget Rod's voice! So I had to look it up and sure is Rod.

Have you heard this one before?

  1. Sounds like a wonderful time and great song.

    1. Thank you.
The girl and I enjoyed it.

  2. Baby Girl, there is no more Spotlight dancer right now. We've changed that to Honorary Conductor for a month. They get to choose all the themes for a month. Woo Hoo Now, I've never heard this tune & what does that sign say that she dropped??? I'm dying to know! Also, girlfriend I think you would make a wonderful realtor. Great job on your Post. So happy you had some time to put it together and one song is perfect for you. It doesn't take up too much time then. Big hugs to you. We've missed you!

    1. Thanks Doll. I need to get updated.
      I'm just running crazy!
And I have no idea what goes into being a realtor, but I do love the idea of it.

  3. Hello Colette,

I stopped by yesterday while away from Blogosphere but forgot to leave a comment. I'm glad you were able to join us on the dance floor. I know you're a busy woman. It's hard working outside the home. You go at your pace. We're here waiting to boogie with you again. I love Rod Stewart and this is a beautiful song! I'm glad you and your daughter were able to spend time doing something you both enjoy. New homes are pricey and sometimes don't offer that roomy feel as some older ones. To get one that's roomy then you have really go up in price which is a pinch on the old wallet for sure. We're learning this in our house hunt. Have a boogietastic week, my friend! XOXO

    1. Ooh I'm so glad you came back sweet Cathy! Thank you. We did have quite the wonderful time together! And it's true about the new homes!

  4. Rod Stewart is back! With the voice I remember! This is a beautiful song. How did I miss it? Your post reminded me of how I would take Sunday walks with my Dad, just him-and-me time, looking at houses under construction in our part of the Bronx. His dream was to be a homeowner but it never came to pass. Thank you for the memory.

    1. Oh yes, the same voice! That is pretty cool since he is such an old legend! Thanks for sharing Alana. I'm so glad you have those good memories with your dad.

  5. You know, I actually never have been to a Parade Of Homes here. I might try to go someday. I am just now (after being here for many years), getting out and discovering Huntsville's thriving downtown area. I need to get out and do/see more.

I also definitely need to find a better work/home life/writing balance.

    1. I hope you do get that balance going Kim, so that you can breathe in God's beauty some more.

Thank you for visiting. I love your comments and will visit you also if you have a hyperlink. #ThisIsTheDay
