When I first saw the package from Rubbermaid, my first thought was; "How do people come up with these ingenious ideas?"
And of course my second thought; "Why didn't I think of that? :) "
Many families want to recycle, but they don't want to be bothered with piles of recyclables crowding their kitchen. So it's great that Rubbermaid is making it easier than ever to dispose of your recyclables with their Hidden Recycler. The Recycler keeps your kitchen free of unwanted clutter by keeping your recyclables hidden from view.
I've been wanting something for storage under my cabinets and while it's not the rotating tray I've been dreaming about, the Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler is perfect for the spot.
I tend to have really big boxes for recycling, so the recycler will do for the smaller things such as paper, cans, bottles etc. I'm now thinking I might need a liner or I'll be washing this more often than I want to.
I have to admit that I have the urge to use it to store stray toys left all around my house :) It's such a cute little thing. Of course if I choose my own color it would be red.
The Recycler took me less than an hour to install. Of course I did it wrong and then when I almost lost my cookies I figured it out.
Once you get it hooked up and preened a bit, you realize that it's a nifty little product and can be use for many things.
The Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler that gets recyclables off the counter and hidden out of sight.
The features of the product include:
- Easy attachment to a cabinet door with hooks included with the product or screws
- A convenient handle allows the bag to easily be transported to wherever your recycling is stored for pickup or transport
- A 5 gallon bag that holds up to 36 12-ounce cans and can fit a milk jug
- The bag has a leak-proof liner and is machine washable to make it easy to clean after any unexpected spills
- The bag is soft-sided allowing for flexibility inside any cabinet
- The bag and all packaging is made from recyclable material, and the product is recyclable
I love the slogan of keeping counters clean by keeping recyclables neatly stashed away. I used to have them on my counter.
One important thing that this will help with is not having to open grocery bags to stash my recyclables. I can just easily drop them in the hidden recycler.

This is very cool, but if I had to choose a different product it would be. . . the patio storage bench. I can always use extra seating around the pool and the seat lifts up to store all those arm floaties and pool toys.
