Monday

Monarch LARC Beauty With Music

Saturday, the kids and I went on a little adventure. I heard about the opening of the Monarch Butterfly Habitat at our LARC's Acadian Village and just had to see it.

I LOVE BUTTERFLIES!
A lady that I work with shared the information a few weeks back and I added it to my calendar.
I almost didn't go, but it was good to give myself a push and it was such a gorgeous day to boot!

Y'all I wish I could have stayed longer, but the crowd was out and the line was long with people waiting to see the butterflies.

I also was expecting to see many more butterflies, but seeing the ones I saw was enough delight for me, just the same.

I love hanging out with my kids y'all. We laugh so much and get into every mix of being a family.

  1. Colette,

Years ago, we did the butterfly garden as part of a science lesson. That was really cool! When the kids were small, we'd visit the segment of the Blue Ridge Parkway in August to witness the Monarch migration. We never saw swarms of Monarch as our timing was always off but there were a few times we did have some good shows. That was a lot of fun. Thanks for bringing back some fond memories! Have a boogietastic week, my dear! xx

  4. I've been to butterfly gardens a couple of times - they are beautiful creatures and yes, it's a wonderful outdoor activity. For some reason, I am having problems getting sound on my computer this morning and will just have to play the music in my head.

  7. Hi Colette,
Sounds like a fabulous day with your kids. There was a monarch in my grass a few weeks ago. It was a chilly morning and he/she was just sitting on the blades of grass. I gave it a little touch to be sure it wasn't injured and he or she fluttered so I guess it was just waiting for the sun to warm him up. Stunningly gorgeous creatures, butterflies.

LOVED your song choice and the video was fun to watch with everyone doing to Continental Drift. What fun!
